Since the implementation of the Basic Education Curriculum Reform(Trial),the "student participation" study has become a hot topic in the academic world.Class participation is an important way to promote students' effective learning. The student's classroom participation is the premise of effect teaching activities.Participation is an important indicator to measure the degree of implementation of the curriculum reform, and full-hearted classroom participation can not only improve students' cognitive and thinking ability, but also promote the overall development of students. In 2008,ordinary high schools in Shanxi province began to implement a comprehensive curriculum reform.Local governments actively responded to the call. The participatory teaching methods such as Xueben classes,Half-day teaching systems and Learning plan-guided teaching that reflect the student center have rapidly increased in the province. In this context,it is worth pondering how the student's classroom participation status is and whether students can truly participate in the classroom and become masters of the classroom. This paper explores the impacts and causes of students' classroom participation, and puts forward suggestions to promote the participation of high school students in the classroom and improve their academic achievement. This paper adopts the questionnaire survey method, and the research tool is “Student Survey Questionnaire for Basic Education Classroom Survey” in Shanxi Province.The486 ordinary high schools in 11 cities in Shanxi Province have collected 48 schools by descending order and equidistant sampling. The field research used one and a half months. The survey was conducted for high school second grade students. There were 5,514 students surveyed and the effective questionnaire reached 98.8%.Through chi-square test, linear regression analysis, analysis of variance, based on the correlation between classroom participation and academic achievement of ordinary high school students in Shanxi Province, the status of students' participation in the classroom and the factors affecting the degree of classroom participation, the questionnaire data and students' academic performance were studied.Concluded as follow:1.The classroom participation of ordinary high school students in our province isgenerally in the upper middle level.Students begin to “move up” in class, but the degree of cognitive participation needs to be strengthened.2.Factors such as high self-expectation,happy mood, healthy body, proximity to parents, high teacher expectations, participation in evaluation, good classroom atmosphere and high school satisfaction can promote students' participation in the classroom.3.Students' achievement will increase with the increase of classroom behavioral participation.Cognitive participation will have greater impact on mathematics than Chinese.Positive emotional participation in classrooms will increase student achievement.4.Academic achievement is closely related to the overall participation of students in the classroom and has a significant impact.5.The difference in classroom participation between key high school students and ordinary high school students in Shanxi Province will not cause their academic achievement to differ depending on the type of school. When the student's academic achievement changes with class participation,it will not be different because the students' school is a public high school or a private high school.6.There are significant differences in the impact of students' classroom behavior participation on academic achievement in different regions of the province. In view of the above findings, the author put forward suggestions from four aspects:students, teachers, schools, and local education bureaus: Students should set goals, improve their own expectations, and standardize group cooperation;Teachers should create a democratic atmosphere of the classroom, and pay attention to teacher-student interaction;Teachers need to stimulate students' thinking, promote cognitive development and enhance students' subjectivity;Teachers should pay attention to the enthusiasm of students to participate in the classroom and enhance emotional participation;Schools should give students the opportunity to participate in the process evaluation; The exchange of experience in curriculum reform between cities will promote the balanced development of education in each city.
