An Analysis Of The Tactical Characteristics Of Federer Serving And Volleying

Federer is known as one of the greatest athletes of all time.Between 2012 and2019,he entered the Wimbledon finals 5 times and won 2 championships.For athletes after the age of 30,physical fitness has become a difficulty they have to face in their careers.In 2012,Federer was 31 years old,but judging from the competitions he participated in from 2012 to 2019,he did not seem to be affected by the continuous decline in physical fitness.Influence.By analyzing his game data over the past eight years,it is not difficult to find that his excellent serve and net tactics are the key to getting rid of the impact of physical decline.The serve-and-net is a fast-paced attacking tactic and a very risky type of play,but Federer uses it a lot on serve and often wins.How Federer actively strengthens offense,masters the rhythm of the game,and reduces physical consumption through serving and netting tactics is worthy of our in-depth study.This paper analyzes the characteristics of Federer’s serve and net tactics in the video of the Wimbledon tennis finals from 2012 to 2019 by means of literature,video analysis,mathematical statistics,and logic analysis,and draws the following conclusions:(1)The tactical layout of Federer’s serve and net is dominated by the first serve in the leading area.When playing against a defensive counter-attacker,use the serve and net tactic on the first serve in the lead area to avoid multiple shots.(2)The spatial dimension of Federer’s serve and net tactics is characterized by the inner corner of the serve,and the right side of the court after the third shot.When playing against defensive and counter-attack players,serve from the outside corner of the flat zone,pull the opponent out of the court,and hit the third shot to the backcourt on the right to maximize the opponent’s movement range;when playing against baseline offensive players,both the lead zone and the flat zone are in the inner corner.Serve mainly,compress the opponent’s preparation time for receiving the serve.(3)Federer’s serve and net tactical batting is characterized by a flat serve,and a backhand volley in the third stage.Taking advantage of the fast ball speed of the flat serve,the high concealment of backhand volleys,the small lead shot,and the large angle,the opponent cannot make efficient ball returns and accurate predictions before Federer’s third volley.(4)Federer ’ s serve-and-internet tactics are characterized by sending inside corner kicks and receiving backhand volleys to attack the backcourt on the right.The purpose is to hit the backhand far away from the opponent’s body.The opponent needs to run in a wide range and use the backhand to hit the ball.;The dominant area is mainly to take out corner kicks and then backhand volleys to attack the right backcourt.The purpose is to hit the opponent’s back ball.The opponent needs to immediately change the running direction and use the backhand to hit the ball.(5)The time dimension of Federer’s serve and net tactics is characterized by the highest utilization rate of key stages of serving and netting.Using the characteristics of key staged opponents’ return and pursuit of stability,he can predict the opponent’s return route and move to the Internet in advance for the third shot.,continue to compress the opponent’s preparation time for hitting the ball.
