Textbook is an important basis for teachers to implement curriculum.The construction of high quality textbook is inseparable from the study of teachers’ textbook use.The 2012 edition of Jiangsu Education Press Textbook is selected as the research object.By means of content analysis method,object analysis method,observation method and interview method,this thesis carries out a qualitative and quantitative,static and dynamic research on the knowledge topic of "statistical table" in the primary school mathematics textbook of Jiangsu Education Press.This thesis aims to provide teachers with constructive guidance and suggestions on the use of textbooks.Firstly,the study is conducted from the dimension of textbook content analysis.This thesis analyzes the content of "statistical tables" in textbooks by Jiangsu Education Press from three dimensions:the background of the preparation of the textbook,the content structure,and the way of presentation.After understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the textbooks,the following insights are obtained:the teaching process should reflect the whole statistical process,cultivate statistical thinking,and develop students’ concept of data step by step;the content of the textbook should appropriately expand the knowledge points,optimize the way of presenting knowledge,and be close to students’ reality;the selection of exercises should focus on the layered design and the diversification of the background and types of exercises.Secondly,the survey was carried out from the dimension of teachers’ use of textbooks.This thesis studies the situation of front-line teachers’ use of statistical tables content in textbooks from three aspects:teacher view,textbook implementation and textbook evaluation.The current situation and problems of teachers’ use of textbooks were summarized:the deviation of concept and behavior;the arbitrariness of textbook implementation;the surface problem of textbook evaluation and the lack of textbook development.Finally,based on the insights from the content analysis of textbooks and and the current situation problems of teachers’ use of textbooks,this thesis puts forward the following strategies and suggestions:study the curriculum standard and understand the compiling concept of textbooks;analyze the textbook,grasp the textbook status,teaching content and process;deal with textbooks,combine with the actual reasonable optimization of textbooks;evaluate the textbook and examine it critically;develop textbooks and use them creatively.
