| In the Mathematics Curriculum Standard of Compulsory Education(2011 Edition),"geometric intuition" was first proposed as one of the ten core concepts.In the Mathematics Curriculum Standard of Compulsory Education(2022 Edition),it has become one of the nine core qualities that junior school students need to cultivate,and become a deep mathematical learning objective.Then,both mathematics educational experts,schools,and parents are paying close attention to it.Therefore,this paper investigates the current level of geometric intuitive ability of junior high school students,exploring the possible influencing factors of the current situation,and makes teaching suggestions to promote students’ geometric intuitive ability.Reviewing related literatures,this paper expounds the the connotation and cultivation value of geometric intuition,geometric intuition ability,axis symmetry and rotation of figure,and determines the grading level of geometric intuitive ability.Then based on the grading level,the test paper of geometric intuitive ability is compiled.Later,this research investigates 232 junior middle school students in grade eight in Suzhou.Finally,the test results are analyzed by SPSS and Excel software to explore the current situation of junior school students’geometric intuitive ability.At the same time,15 students who participated in the test are selected for case analysis,and using the class observation scale modified by the LICC paradigm observation scale for qualitative and quantitative analysis to conduct classroom observation,are both to explore the factors that may affect the level of junior middle school students’ geometric intuitive ability.Finally,according to the conclusion of the study.Some training strategies are put forward for teachers to develop the geometric intuitive ability of junior school students.Through investigation and research,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The level of geometric intuition ability of junior two students is generally good,but still needs to be improved.(2)There is no significant difference in the overall level of geometric intuition ability between students of different genders.(3)There is a strong positive correlation between the learning performance of the students in Grade eight and their development level of geometric intuitive ability.Students with higher scores in this test also have better math scores at ordinary times(4)Students’intuitive cognition and imagination are good,but their construction ability is weak.Through interviews and classroom observation,it is further understood that students’ mathematical thinking quality and teachers’ training in daily teaching have great impact on students’ geometric intuitive ability.According to the above results,the concerned teaching suggestions are put forward:teachers should pay attention to the application of geometric intuition and the cultivation of geometric intuition ability;guide students to construct independently and cultivate excellent thinking quality;encourage students to connect with life experiences;strengthen students’awareness of using geometric intuition to solve problems;conduct more training on geometry problem sets to accumulate students’ geometry problem-solving strategies;emphasize visual demonstration to assist teaching and strengthen students’ intuitive thinking. |
