Since the adoption of the "new curriculum" and "new teaching materials" in high schools,major changes have occurred in the areas related to curriculum development in schools,posing considerable challenges to the curriculum leadership of principals.Researchers have been thinking deeply about how to respond to the many changes brought about by the "double new" reform,and how to put into practice the educational philosophy of "building moral character" and "developing students’ core literacy".In order to gain a deeper understanding of the curriculum leadership of high school principals in the context of the "double new" reform,the authors conducted a survey on the curriculum leadership of high school principals as a selected topic,aiming to help high school principals lead the "double new" curriculum reform in their schools and actively improve their own curriculum leadership.The study aims to help high school principals to lead the "double new" curriculum reform in their schools,actively improve their own curriculum leadership,and promote the characteristic and diversified development of high school education.This study explored the curriculum leadership of high school principals through literature research,questionnaires and interviews.Taking city H as an example,the seven dimensions of curriculum leadership cognition,leading the direction of curriculum development,promoting curriculum construction,cultivating teacher quality,building curriculum culture,leading curriculum change,and cultivating curriculum leadership were used to understand the current situation of curriculum leadership of high school principals,and the following problems were found in the curriculum leadership of general high school principals: ambiguous points in curriculum leadership cognition;insufficient leading the direction of curriculum development and characteristic construction;The researcher found that the following problems exist in the curriculum leadership of general high school principals: ambiguity in the perception of curriculum leadership;insufficient leadership in the direction of curriculum development and construction of characteristics;relatively weak capacity to continuously build school curriculum;insufficient attention to the quality of teachers’ curriculum;implementation of the "double new" reform policy is still in the experimental process;and principals need additional expertise in cur Sriculum leadership.The researcher analyzed the causes at the level of the education system,the school level,and the principal’s own level.Based on the problems and reasons,the researcher proposed strategies to improve the curriculum leadership of general high school principals: establishing a curriculum leadership organization system and giving full play to the role of middle-level leaders;creating a curriculum vision and goals to guide the direction of curriculum construction;integrating multiple forces inside and outside the school to enrich curriculum resources;improving the curriculum incentive system to stimulate teachers’ internal motivation;combining empowerment and research and training to cultivate teachers’ curriculum quality;creating a learning school to pass on the curriculum culture;and creating a learning school to pass on the curriculum culture.The school will create a learning school and inherit the curriculum culture;clarify the content and ways to improve the professionalism of the principal’s curriculum leadership.
