A Study On The Collective Memory Of The Opening And Closing Ceremonies Of The Beijing Winter Olympic

The Opening and Closing Ceremonies are one of the most important ceremonies of the previous Olympic Games.Each host country disseminates its outstanding historical and traditional culture through the use of ritual and symbolic elements during the Opening and Closing Ceremonies,while also allowing the Opening and Closing Ceremonies to construct the collective memory of its own people and even the world’s people for this country or nation.This article takes the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Winter Olympics as the research object,using text analysis and content analysis methods to analyze the video materials of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Winter Olympics,refining the links in the opening and closing ceremonies,and deeply analyzing the rituals and symbols presented in the opening and closing ceremonies,in an effort to restore the basic framework of the collective memory construction of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Winter Olympics.Subsequently,the advantages of constructing collective memory during the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games are analyzed,and compared with the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Europe,America,and Asia,hoping to provide suggestions on how to construct collective memory during the opening and closing ceremonies of future major sports events.
