Curriculum reform should establish a core competency system and academic quality standards for student development,and cultivate the necessary character and key abilities needed for students’ development.In 2019,the "General High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition and 2020 Revision)" was promulgated,which pointed out that STSE education should be strengthened in biology teaching,so that students can improve their core literacy in the process of exploration,innovation and practice.This study focuses on how STSE after-class exercises in textbooks reflect the core literacy development of the curriculum.How to serve the construction of the core literacy system? And how to make full use of STSE after-class exercises in practical teaching?Firstly,the concepts and correspondence of core competencies in biology,STSE education and STSE after-class exercises were defined,and the importance of STSE afterclass exercises to the cultivation of core competencies in biology was clarified.Secondly,the text analysis method was used to sort,classify,statistically and compare the STSE afterclass exercises in the 2019 Renjiao Edition General High School Biology Textbook(hereinafter referred to as the "New Textbook")and the 2014 Renjiao Edition General High School Biology Textbook(hereinafter referred to as the "Old Textbook")to provide teaching materials for practical teaching.Thirdly,the survey method is used to study the application status of after-school exercises in biology teaching.Finally,combined with the analysis of teaching materials and the survey results,the application strategy of STSE after-class exercises is proposed,the teaching design and test paper preparation are completed and put into teaching practice,and the experimental research method and interview method are used to evaluate the test results of STSE after-class exercises and the interviews of teachers and students,and the teaching effect of STSE after-class exercise problems application strategy pointing to core literacy cultivation is tested.Based on the above research,the following enlightenments were obtained on how STSE after-class exercises reflect the core literacy cultivation of the curriculum,serve the construction of the core literacy system,and how to make full use of STSE after-class exercises in practical teaching: based on the core literacy concept,in-depth interpretation of STSE after-class exercises;With core literacy as the purpose,scientifically and comprehensively select after-class exercises;Taking the exercise situation as an example,the exercises are adapted with novel characteristics;Take the title of after-class study to seek teaching improvement and breakthrough.STSE after-class exercises contribute to the construction of the core literacy system.
