Research On Social Support For Rural Left-behind Elderly People To Cross The Digital Divide From The Perspective Of Social Wor

With the advent of the digital era in China and the continuous growth of the elderly population,the elderly population is facing the problem of the digital divide when using intelligent technology,gradually becoming marginalized figures in the digital society,especially the disadvantaged rural elderly left behind.This article takes the elderly left behind in rural areas as the research object,and through on-site visits and investigations,it is found that the phenomenon of the digital divide has brought certain difficulties to the daily lives of the elderly left behind.The main manifestations include obstacles in the use of intelligent products,difficulties in scanning code registration for travel,inconvenience in mobile payment transactions,and exclusion of entertainment and social activities.The reasons for the digital divide are mainly related to the elderly themselves and social support networks.Therefore,based on the empowerment theory and social support theory,social workers use case services and group work methods to directly and indirectly intervene in social work for left behind elderly people and their social support networks,to help them achieve self empowerment and obtain external support,thereby solving the problem of the digital divide and integrating into the digital society.In terms of self empowerment of the elderly and strengthening social network support,certain results have been achieved and the expected goals have been achieved.Research has found that empowering left behind elderly people can transform their self-awareness and improve their ability to apply intelligent technology,which is the foundation for solving the digital divide problem among the elderly;Building a social support network and exerting its positive role can enable the elderly to receive external support,which is the key to solving the problem of the digital divide among the elderly;The professional strength of social work can provide professional guidance and support for the improvement of the digital divide problem among the elderly.Relevant actions targeting left behind elderly people can meet their actual needs and effectively solve the digital divide problem.
