Social Work Intervening In Rural Social Support For Left-behind Old People

With the accelerating pace of industrialization and urbanization in China,a large number of rural laborers have flooded into cities.This has led to a special group of rural residents-left behind,and the number has increased year by year.Due to the emigration of young and middle-aged labor force,the life of left-behind elderly in rural areas faces various difficulties,and there are also various gaps in social support.This has led to a series of problems such as aggravated labor burden,lack of daily care,lack of social contact,and empty spirits.Therefore,it is imperative to improve the social support for the left-behind elderly in rural areas.This study takes social work as a perspective to investigate and analyze the status of social support for left-behind elderly in rural areas.In view of their co-existence of insufficient economic support,lack of support for life care,lack of spiritual comfort,etc.,the use of casework and group work methods involved them.Relying on ecosystem theory in case work,based on informal support,the case owner receives support from family members and peer groups,ultimately improving the life of the owner;using interactive mode in the group work to break the countryside Staying with the old closed living conditions of the elderly and cultivating their awareness of mutual support to further improve their social support system.In response to problems found in practical operations,suggestions were made from three different levels.That is to say,from the micro level,the elderly left behind in rural areas should actively form a sense of seeking social support,communicate and communicate with their children on their own initiative,and tell their own needs.From a meso level perspective,village committees and social organizations should pay more attention to staying with the elderly and develop more.The activities suitable for the elderly should enhance the communication and exchanges between the elderly who stayed behind to form an atmosphere of mutual help and help;from the macro level,the government should increase the intensity of purchasing social services,promote the development of social work projects,and formulate and improve Relevant policies to solve the problem of left-behind elderly in rural areas.
