China has entered an aging society,and the rapid pace of urban life and high living costs make many rural elderly unable to follow their children and can only stay in the countryside.The elderly care function of rural families has been extremely weakened.In rural areas in underdeveloped western regions such as Ningxia,multi-dimensional factors have led to the plight of rural empty nest elderly in providing for the elderly,causing them to generally face many problems such as economic difficulties,lack of spiritual care,lack of care,and insufficient social support,affecting the sense of gain and happiness of the elderly in their later years of life.This study in Village X,where the author conducted a field visit to rural empty nest elderly people and chooses an empty nest elderly person in Village X,as the case service object to preliminarily explore the situation of the service object.Apply professional knowledge of social work to carry out services in accordance with the six steps of social work in a case:After establishing a preliminary relationship with the service object,further estimate and analyze the problems of the service object,and adhere to the principle of problem oriented and demand oriented appropriate and reasonable service plans and programs.Specifically,starting with emotional counseling,guide service clients to recall happy times and happy events in their families,and gradually break free from negative and pessimistic emotions.Set the frequency target for children to actively contact and meet with service objects,and increase emotional support and care from families and children for service objects.Actively link social volunteer service resources,regularly provide homework guidance for the grandchildren of service objects,and alleviate the pressure and powerlessness of service objects towards parenthood.In addition,the establishment of a good social support system can enable service objects to establish confidence in facing difficulties.With the support of neighbors,peer groups,and village committees,the level of social interaction of service objects is enhanced.Guide service clients to rediscover their interests and hobbies,and reduce their sense of loneliness.Finally,evaluate the process and effectiveness of the case work and close the case.Through case work study,the pessimism of service objects has positive changes,with increased interaction with relatives,easing the pressure of parenthood,improving the social support system,and gradually entering the minds of service objects with a positive aging concept.The needs of rural empty nest elderly have received good feedback,and their impact,sustainability,and promotion have been well confirmed,providing a better case service paradigm for rural empty nest elderly families with similar problems.By establishing and improving national macro policies and systems;Integrate resources for the elderly in developed areas,moderately tilt towards underdeveloped areas in the west,expand channels to attract talents,and attract young people to return to rural work;Create multiple modes of cross assistance such as family pension,community pension,home-based pension,and mutual assistance pension in rural areas,innovate pension methods and means,and jointly create a good environment for rural empty nest elderly to support and love the elderly.Only then can the sense of value and sense of gain of rural empty nest elderly become more prominent,and their later life become happier and happier.Therefore,the author conducts a case study on the plight of the rural empty nesters elderly to improve their quality of life in their later years and provide necessary emotional guidance,emotional support and supportive services,which has certain practical and theoretical significance.
