In the context of population aging era,the empty nesters have received unprecedented attention.As a special existence,the empty nesters in college communities are characterized by high knowledge and high salary.Compared with other empty nesters' strong demand for material resources,the most prominent demand of the empty nesters in college communitiesis their emotional need.This study takes the emotional support of the empty nesters in H community of Heilongjiang Province as the research object,and deeply understands the basic situation and emotional support status of the empty nesters in H community through questionnaire survey,semi-structured interview and participant observation method.It is found that the empty nesters in H community have strong feelings of loneliness,little family companionship,large psychological gap,weak awareness of participation,marginalization of policies and difficulty in self-realization.According to emotion ABC theory,social support theory and social exchange theory,and in line with the concept of changing their beliefs,strengthening external support and realizing social participation,case and group work methods were used to intervene in social work of the empty nesters in H community from three aspects of inner belief,external support and interactive participation.By reflecting on the deficiencies in the practical process and professional level,suggestions were put forward to strengthen the participation consciousness of the elderly,build a diversified support network,carry forward the trend of respecting and loving the elderly,and improve the comprehensive quality of social workers,in order to improve the emotional support of empty-nesters in college communities to a certain extent,and provide new ideas and experience for solving the emotional needs of empty-nesters and promoting their comprehensive development.
