| The SOLO taxonomy is a tool based on students’ cognitive development to evaluate their thinking levels, and can systematically describe the performance of learners at different thinking levels when faced with problem situations. The SOLO taxonomy can guide the establishment of teaching objectives, the setting of teaching links, the judgment of students’ thinking levels, help teachers timely and accurately obtain students’ thinking development status, and promote the integration of "teaching, learning, and evaluation." The guided learning plan helps students preview before class, set learning goals, guide students to think independently during class, and establish thinking models, which can cultivate students’ self-learning ability. This study applied the SOLO taxonomy to guide the design of review lesson guided learning plans in order to promote the implementation of new curriculum standards, and advanced thinking abilitiesand cultivate students’ lifelong learning abilities. This study first consulted and analyzed relevant literature on the SOLO taxonomy and instructional design both domestically and internationally, defined the core concepts, and utilized "zone of proximal development" theory, constructivism learning theory, and Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives as research foundations.Through questionnaires,pre-tests of exam questions, and teacher interviews, the study identified student learning habits, thinking abilities, and basic teaching situations, combined with field conditions to propose effective combinations and design principles for revising classes based on the SOLO taxonomy.Based on students’ mental and physical development laws, the primary components of the revision class’ instructional design based on the SOLO taxonomy were determined to be learning goals,pre-class review, key breakthroughs, capability advancement, linking to college entrance exams, teaching methodology, and reflective summaries, using "nitrogen and its compounds""sulfur and its compounds" and "primary batteries and electrolysis cells" as examples for education design. The study conducted practical observations in a high school in Yulin City,Shaanxi Province and verified the teaching effect of the instructional design for revision classes based on the SOLO taxonomy evaluation theory through conducting student questionnaires,post-tests of exam questions, and teacher interviews. The result shows that after practice, the experimental class scores 5.8 points higher than the control class, and thinking ability significantly improved. The questionnaire survey showed that 70%of the students approved of this teaching plan.Teacher interviews indicated that the teaching plan could effectively improve students’ initiative in learning. Therefore, the review class teaching plan based on the SOLO taxonomy can effectively promote the systematic structuring of knowledge, improve review efficiency, enhance students’ thinking levels, cultivate their self-learning abilities, and promote the integration of "teaching, learning, and evaluation," laying a foundation for students’ lifelong learning. |
