In the curriculum concept of the "Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)" promulgated in April 2022,it is clearly pointed out that the curriculum goals are based on student development,guided by core literacy,and emphasize that the teaching content should be clear,the proportion of lesson hours should be reasonable,and the integrity should be strengthened.In view of the cultivation requirements of core literacy and the characteristics of mathematics itself,the implementation of unit teaching is an effective way and key step to implement the requirements of curriculum reform.Univariate quadratic equations are an important mathematical model in junior high school mathematics.Solving practical problems through univariate quadratic equations can make students feel the importance and wide application of equation models more deeply,so as to cultivate students’ application awareness.Therefore,the research on unit teaching design of univariate quadratic equations has certain practical significance and reference value,so the research topic of this paper is determined.Focus on four issues: first,the current level of understanding of unit teaching design by junior high school teachers;The second is the hindrance factor for teachers to carry out the teaching design of the "univariate quadratic equation" unit;The third is the basic strategy of carrying out the teaching of "univariate quadratic equations" unit;The fourth is the method of carrying out the teaching design of the "univariate quadratic equation" unit.In order to solve the above confusion,the research methods of this paper are determined as literature method,interview method and case analysis method.Through CNKI,Weipu and other platforms,relevant literature books were consulted,the connotation of unit design and teaching design of mathematics unit was clarified,and relevant research results were sorted out.Through the case study of the unit design and the interview survey of junior secondary school teachers,we have gained a preliminary understanding of the current situation and problems of teaching the quadratic equation unit and have made suggestions for optimising it.Interviews and case studies of instructional design revealed that most middle school teachers understood the basic operations of unit instructional design;general agreement on the value of unit instructional design;some teachers are able to design and practice units;Some teachers were not quite sure how to explicitly reflect and implement the core literacies in the design of the unit of instruction.However,in the course of further analysis of the case,the author found that there were certain problems in the specific content of the unit’s instructional design,the main ones being:The analysis of the teaching elements is not comprehensive and in-depth;the design of the teaching objectives is not standardised;there is a lack of reflection on the optimisation of the teaching design process of the unit;the evaluation of the unit is single.Based on the above analysis,the author puts forward suggestions for optimising the teaching design of a unit on quadratic equations:comprehensive analysis of teaching elements;design of unit teaching objectives that point to core literacy;holistic design of unit teaching activities;and holistic planning of unit assessment.Finally,on the basis of the analysis of the above research,a teaching practice was carried out to observe how it was carried out,and an analysis of the effectiveness of the teaching was carried out in conjunction with test questions and transcripts of interviews with teachers and students.
