The "Chemistry Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High Schools(2017 Edition,Revised in 2020)" explicitly emphasizes the importance of teaching based on literacy, emphasizes the student-centered approach in teaching, focuses on the creation of real-world problem scenarios, advocates for innovative teaching methods, and flexibly carries out teaching activities.Project-based learning is a teaching method based on real-life situations that aims to enable students to solve real-life problems by participating in actual projects. The educational approach of project-based learning is in line with the new curriculum standards,as it promotes students’ understanding of subject principles and mastery of subject methods, develops subject literacy and key abilities through project activities. The "Guidelines for Excellent Traditional Culture into Primary and Secondary School Curriculum Textbooks" published by the Ministry of Education in 2021 emphasizes the integration of Chinese excellent traditional culture into primary and secondary school curriculum teaching, cultivating students’ cultural confidence and cultural identity.By comparing the chemistry textbooks of the three versions of People’s Education Press,Su Education Press, and Lu Science Press,it is found that the new version of textbooks incorporates more elements of Chinese excellent traditional culture. This indicates that Chinese excellent traditional culture has received more attention and application in chemistry education.Traditional intangible cultural heritage is an important part of Chinese excellent traditional culture and an important educational resource for cultivating students’ ethnic pride and establishing cultural confidence.Intangible cultural heritage contains important subject knowledge and methods, which are closely related to filtration, evaporation and crystallization, distillation, and extraction in chemistry. This study attempts to integrate intangible cultural heritage into project-based learning in high school chemistry education.Taking Su Education Press’ s "Experimental Methods for Studying Substances" as an example,we develop corresponding intangible cultural heritage teaching cases, explore the feasibility and implementation effects of the application of intangible cultural heritage in high school chemistry project-based learning, and provide references for the reform and innovation of high school chemistry education.Firstly, relevant important literature is sorted and analyzed, and the concepts of project-based learning, intangible cultural heritage, and chemistry intangible heritage are defined, the five core elements of project-based learning are constructed, and suggestions for the integration of intangible cultural heritage into the classroom path are proposed.Fully tap the chemical resources in intangible cultural heritage, find the connection between intangible cultural heritage and chemical knowledge, establish a chemistry-intangible heritage resource library, and provide resources for the application of intangible cultural heritage in chemistry teaching.Secondly,a questionnaire survey is conducted on teachers and students to explore the problems of integrating traditional culture into chemistry classrooms.Using intangible cultural heritage as a scenario basis, and by analyzing the project content theme, the project teaching objectives are determined, and cases are designed and developed with "Exploring the Production Process of Zhuang Ethnic Five-Color Sticky Rice","Revealing the Brewing Process of Danquan Liquor",and "Exploring the Production Techniques of Wuming Ash Water Zongzi" as project themes, and minority characteristic activities with "Making Five-Color Sticky Rice,Inheriting the Beauty of Ethnic Culture" as the project theme are carried out outside of class. Finally,by combining intangible cultural heritage with chemistry experiments, students construct a "Research Method of Substances" system, and in the practical process, they master the basic methods and skills of chemical experiments. After the project is implemented, the project is evaluated by making hand-copied reports on intangible cultural heritage and chemistry, writing short essays on promoting intangible cultural heritage, and drawing mind maps on the research methods of substances to evaluate students’ practical abilities and cultural literacy. At the same time, chemistry tests are designed based on intangible cultural heritage scenarios to test students’ mastery of experimental methods and understanding of culture. This study integrates intangible cultural heritage into high school chemistry project-based learning, explores the landing issues of the new curriculum standards’ core literacy in chemistry classrooms from a unique perspective, and draws the following conclusions:Firstly,it is reflected in the development of students’ core literacy and the acquisition of key abilities. The integration of intangible cultural heritage into chemistry teaching allows students to understand chemical principles in practice, deepen their understanding and mastery of chemical knowledge, promote students’ mastery of chemical experimental skills, form safety awareness, cultivate students’ chemical thinking and innovative abilities, and improve students’ practical and analytical problem-solving abilities. The integration of intangible cultural heritage into teaching better promotes the comprehensive development of students.Secondly,it is reflected in the inheritance and promotion of intangible cultural heritage.Intangible cultural heritage represents the essence and wisdom of Chinese traditional culture. The integration of intangible cultural heritage into chemistry teaching stimulates students’ interest and confidence in learning chemistry, enhances their understanding and comprehension of traditional culture, improves their cultural literacy, cultivates their aesthetic abilities, and promotes the better inheritance and promotion of intangible cultural heritage.
