In China’s basic education, the primary school stage is an important period to cultivate students’ habits, life attitude and character. As the direct core manager of the school, the principal of the primary school plays the role of "steering".In recent years, the group of female principals in the field of basic education has received increasing attention year by year.As a part of educational leaders, most of them are in the stage after marriage and childbirth. The growth of female principals is related to the development of basic education, and is also the reflection of the reform of basic education schools on their individual bodies. After experiencing the growth of ordinary teachers, the headmistress is at the stage of management in the school structure. In the transition of work roles and family roles, certain work-family conflicts will be triggered. However, such conflicts become more intense after the birth of the headmistress, bringing negative effects in many aspects.More responsibilities on the shoulders of female principals, more mature age and more restrained professional identity will make them choose to dissolve themselves when facing work-family conflicts.Such long-term self-dissolution is not only a challenge to psychological bearing, but also a long-term hidden danger to work and family itself. From the focus on the physical and mental health of female principals,we not only see the tasks that women need to undertake in society, but also see the challenges that female school leaders encounter in conflicts. It is expected that through this study,we can deeply understand the current situation of work-family conflict of female principals who have given birth in primary schools, provide more wisdom and experience for dealing with work-family conflict, and also provide a new perspective for the study of female principals in primary schools. From the perspective of social support theory and using qualitative research methods, this study selected nine female principals who had given birth in nine public primary schools in Zhengzhou as the investigation objects.In-depth interviews were conducted to obtain real information about the research topic. We use coding to sort out the materials, sort out the context and the relationship between relevant contents, and find the countermeasures to solve the problem.Through investigation and research,it is found that the problem of work-family conflict exists widely in primary school female principals who have given birth.Based on the theory of social support, this paper explores the problem of work-family conflict in primary school female principals who have given birth from two aspects of formal support system and informal support system: first, the formal support system has poor demand response and few ways of mitigation;Heavy work tasks, family affairs at a time;Traditional ideas conflict, difficult to get strong support;Secondly,in the informal support system, family responsibilities accumulate and it is difficult to balance home and school.Individual expectations are different, can not focus on.From the perspective of social support theory, this study tries to explore the support strategies needed in the work-family conflict of female principals with children in primary schools, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures: improve the government support, improve the demand response;Improve work support, promote democratic management;Strengthen community support and build community support;Focus on family support and strengthen emotional support;Enhance individual support and enhance coping power. |
