Practical Research On Promoting Villagers' Participation In Improving Living Environment Through Community Wor

In 2017,the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to establish and practice the concept that green mountains and clear waters are golden mountains and silver mountains,implement the rural revitalization strategy,and improve the rural living environment.In 2021,the No.1 central document again proposed to implement the five-year action plan for improving rural human settlements.Villagers are the residents of the village,the guardians of the rural living environment,and the main role in improving the rural living environment.However,there is a serious imbalance between the lifestyle,environmental awareness,and participation level of villagers and the constantly improving material living standards,leading to insufficient participation of villagers in the improvement of the living environment.The focus of this study is on how to use professional social work methods and techniques to promote the participation of villagers in action to improve the living environment.This study takes H Village in Henan Province as a sample community and uses questionnaire survey,interview,and participatory observation methods to investigate and analyze the participation of villagers in improving the living environment in this village.A comprehensive analysis was conducted from three perspectives:participation awareness,participation ability,and participation channels.It was found that the villagers of H village have insufficient awareness of participating in improving the living environment,weak participation ability and knowledge,and fewer platforms for participation.The reasons for the insufficient participation of villagers in improving the living environment were analyzed from both subjective and objective aspects.Starting with the issues and needs of H village villagers’ participation,guided by regional development models,community participation theory,and social interaction theory,the participation of villagers in the improvement of the living environment in this village was promoted.This service focuses on three aspects: participation awareness,participation ability,and participation channels,and designs three subjects for a total of ten activities.By conducting community promotion,awakening villagers’ awareness of participation,conducting environmental improvement knowledge and skills,and collective collaboration training,enhancing villagers’ participation ability,expanding participation channels,and increasing villagers’ participation platforms.In addition,this study also adheres to the continuity of services,carries out special activities for tree planting and greening,increases villagers’ practice,and continues to track and investigate the participation of H village villagers in improving their living environment after the service is completed.Social work can help enhance villagers’ environmental awareness,and the use of regional development models can effectively promote villagers’ participation in public affairs in the village.Social work can assist in the implementation of rural living environment improvement projects.At the same time,the role of social work in improving rural living environment should not be limited to "problem centered",but rather to deeply understand the deep logic behind the problems.Attention should be paid to the connection between specific service activities,and social work ethics should be adhered to in the service process.
