Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the current situation of Social Physique Anxiety,Physical Self-Esteem and Physical Activity among college students in Suzhou,and to understand the differences between the three items among college students of different genders and grades and to analyse the correlation between Social Physique Anxiety,Physical Self-Esteem and Physical Activity using regression analysis.Methods:This study selected 400 college students from two universities as the survey subjects.(1)Literature method:Journal literature,policy documents,books and other data materials related to Social Physique Anxiety,Physical Self-Esteem and Physical Activity were reviewed.(2)Questionnaire method:The Social Physique Anxiety Scale,the Physical Self-Esteem Scale and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form were used to measure the current status of Social Physique Anxiety,Physical Self-Esteem and Physical Activity among university students.(3)Mathematical and statistical method:The data were analysis using SPSS statistical analysis software using independent sample t-test,regression analysis and one-way analysis of variance.Results:(1)In this survey,the Social Physique Anxiety and Physical Self-Esteem of the university students were at an intermediate level,while 54.26%(210)of the university students met the WHO recommendations for Physical Activity for adults.(2)There were significant gender differences in Social Physique Anxiety,Physical Self-Esteem and Physical Activity,with male students scoring higher than female students.(3)There is no significant difference in Social Physique Anxiety among university students in different grades;there are significant grade differences in Physical Self-Esteem and Physical Activity,specifically in Physical Self-Esteem:the mean scores of first-year students are the highest and the mean scores of fourth-year students are the lowest in the dimensions of body self-worth,athletic ability,physical condition and physical attractiveness:the mean scores of third-year students are the highest and the mean scores of second-year students are the lowest in the dimensions of physical quality.In physical activity,the highest scores were found in the first year and the lowest in the fourth year.(4)Social Physical Anxiety can significantly affect Physical Self-Esteem and Physical Activity(p<0.05),and the t-value is negative,indicating a negative correlation;Physical Self-Esteem significantly affects Social Physical Anxiety and Physical Activity,indicating a correlation between the three:Physical Activity cannot significantly affect Social Physical Anxiety and Physical Self-Esteem.Conclusions:(1)In this survey,the Social Physique Anxiety and Physical Self-Esteem of the university students were at an intermediate level,and most of them met the WHO recommendations for adult Physical Activity.(2)Male university students showed higher levels of Social Physique Anxiety.Physical Self-Esteem and Physical Activity than female students.(3)College students scored highest in their first year and lowest in their fourth year on the Physical Self-Esteem Profile,and spent the most time being physically active in their first year and the least time being physically active in their fourth year on the Physical Activity scale.(4)Social Physique Anxiety and Physical Self-Esteem scores were negatively correlated;Physical Self-Esteem did not significantly affect Physical Activity levels.
