With the rapid changes in social life,the accelerating pace of life and the erosion of bad fragmented information on the internet,college students are mixed with many undesirable factors in the process of improving their physical self-esteem and are not able to fully understand and accept themselves.Physical exercise is a scientifically effective means of promoting physical and mental health,but at present some university students are not yet able to establish a positive and active exercise attitude and participation habits to achieve the benefits of physical and mental health.Physical literacy,on the other hand,is an innovative strategy in the face of the health crisis and is an ability to promote the long-term development of physical and mental health through the formation of physical education.Through the literature,it is found that there is a correlation between physical exercise and physical self-esteem among university students,and a correlation between physical literacy and physical self-esteem among university students,but there is a lack of correlation between the three.Therefore,this paper mainly uses questionnaires to investigate the current situation and characteristics of physical exercise,physical literacy and body self-esteem among college students in seven colleges and universities in Nanning.The paper attempts to clarify the relationship between physical exercise,physical literacy and body self-esteem,so as to draw attention to physical exercise among university students,improve their physical literacy level,increase their correct understanding of their own bodies,and promote the overall physical and psychological development of university students.Conclusions of the study:(1)Nanning college students do not invest much time in physical exercise,mainly concentrating on 21-30 minutes;there are significant differences in physical exercise between different genders of college students,with girls mainly concentrating on the level of small exercise;there are significant differences in physical exercise between different grades of college students,with senior students having a better level of physical exercise than junior students;there are significant differences in physical exercise between college students of different BMI levels,mainly being on the lean side.The significant differences in physical exercise among college students of different BMI levels are mainly between college students of lean weight and other groups,and the physical exercise of college students of lean weight is worse.(2)College students in Nanning already have a certain level of physical literacy.There are significant differences in physical literacy between different sexes,with male students doing better than female students in the dimensions of motivation and interaction with the environment;there are significant differences in physical literacy between different grades of university students,with the level of physical literacy tending to rise gradually with grade;there are significant differences in physical literacy between different BMI levels of university students,with thin students having a lower level of physical literacy than students of other BMI levels;there are significant differences in physical literacy between different BMI levels of university students,with thin students having a lower level of physical literacy than students of other BMI levels.There are significant differences in physical literacy among college students of different physical activity levels,and students with high physical activity levels have better physical literacy levels.(3)There is still room for improvement in the physical attractiveness and physical self-worth of physical self-esteem among college students in Nanning.There are significant differences in physical self-esteem among college students of different genders,with male students doing better than female students in all dimensions,but male and female students are more negatively rated in terms of physical attractiveness;there are significant differences in physical self-esteem among college students of different grades,with senior students having higher levels of physical self-esteem;there are no significant differences in physical attractiveness among college students of different BMI levels,with students at normal BMI having better physical self-esteem than There is no significant difference in physical attractiveness among college students of different BMI levels,and students with normal BMI have better body self-esteem than students who are thin and overweight;there is a significant difference in body self-esteem among college students of different physical activity levels,and students with high physical activity levels have significantly better body self-esteem than students with other physical activity levels.(4)The three variables of physical exercise,physical literacy and body self-esteem were significantly and positively correlated with each other;the mediating effect of physical literacy on the relationship between physical exercise and body self-esteem was established,and the direct effect and the mediating effect accounted for 69.948% and 30.052% of the total effect respectively.The direct and mediated effects accounted for 69,948% and 30,052% respectively of the total effect.University students can improve their physical literacy level through participation in physical exercise,thereby improving their physical self-esteem and achieving healthy physical and mental development.Suggestions of the study:(1)It is suggested that university students should arrange their extracurricular activity time reasonably and pay attention to the experience in exercise activities;choose some exercise items that are easy to master,small exercise volume and easy to generate exercise interest;engage in more physical exercise participation,have a benign understanding of their physical self,correctly understand their psychological changes,improve their cognitive level and establish confidence in themselves.(2)Physical education teachers in colleges and universities make physical literacy a fundamental goal of their work.Physical education teachers gain an in-depth understanding of the connotations of physical literacy and the concepts it advocates,and translate them into lively and varied physical education activities that motivate students to maintain positive self-confidence and self-esteem as they participate in physical activities.(3)The management of university students should focus on the physical exercise and self-esteem of some low-weight students,understand their exercise needs and prescribe exercise prescriptions or psychological counselling for this group of students to help them understand themselves better and be able to achieve an adequate level of physical self-esteem.(4)Bridging primary and secondary schools to develop physical literacy in the physical education curriculum,while combining it with family and social guidance;paying attention to the interests of university students and individual differences in their participation in exercise,and focusing on process evaluation.
