With the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, digital exclusion is gradually becoming apparent among the elderly.Because digital technology is becoming more and more widely used in our lives, many non-network users are in a marginalized state, and at the same time, the elderly group has become a "silent majority" because they cannot obtain some daily information through the Internet, and they show great loneliness and insecurity in the face of the outside world, which is detrimental to the physical and mental health of the elderly themselves.According to the data of China’s seventh national census,as of 2020,10.7%of the population is over 65 years old.At present, the current situation of aging in China is very grim, the base of the elderly population is large, and the structural imbalance of the elderly population is particularly serious. With the deepening of China’s aging trend, the elderly have a growing demand for digital products and related services. However, the traditional home care model can no longer meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly. In this context, how to better mobilize the subjective initiative of the elderly and better integrate them into the digital society under the premise of ensuring their daily life is an important issue worthy of our serious consideration and research.Digital inclusion is an action and process aimed at bridging the gap between "digital natives" and the digitally vulnerable.Digital integration services for the elderly mainly refer to narrowing the digital gap between the elderly and the young,so that the elderly can better integrate into the modern digital society.Based on the above background, this paper takes the R community in Guangzhou as the research site to understand the current situation of digital integration of the elderly group through investigation and research, and finds that many elderly people have certain digital integration dilemmas.Under the guidance of continuing socialization theory, the needs of the elderly are determined around the digital integration dilemma of the elderly. With the goal of enabling the elderly to master the use of digital devices, better integrate into modern digital life, establish stronger emotional connections with grandchildren, and enhance grandchildren’s sense of filial piety to their grandchildren, social workers designed and optimized a total of 7 group activities.Using the group work method, the adaptation and change of the elderly and grandchildren in the dynamic operation process of the project were analyzed under the guidance of continuing socialization theory, and the specific application and performance of social work values in the digital integration of the elderly into the grandchild mutual aid group was studied. The study found that: first, social work values are the guidance and foundation for group activities;Second, the use of values throughout the group’s activities;Third, the values of social work are effectively aligned with the continuing socialization of the elderly. However, there are also shortcomings in this study: the application of social work values in grandchild support groups needs to be localized; In the future, grandchild support groups can be evaluated from multiple dimensions; The application of continuing socialization theory in the digital integration of the elderly needs to be combined with the local context.Through the study of the grandchild mutual aid group for the digital integration of the elderly, the direction of thinking about the future research has also been obtained: first, value neutrality in the face of the willingness of group members to choose;second, values should guide not to rush in the group process Third, let the use of group values continue to promote the continuing socialization of the elderly.
