Family is the first place for personal socialization and the most basic unit of society.Besides,it plays an important role in personal and social development. In recent years, people’s concept of marriage and family has changed with the development of industrialization and modernization. So,there are more and more single-parent families, and they gradually receive more and more attention from the society.Compared with traditional two-parent families, the members of single-parent families often bear more external and internal pressures, and these families are more likely to be unstable and vulnerable. The emotional psychology, quality of life, life and study of family members in single-parent families have been negatively affected for a long time.and the problems of parent-child conflict are very urgent in single-parent families. In order to help single-parent family members resolve parent-child conflicts, promote the development of family members and strengthen family harmony and stability, this research studies the problems of parent-child conflict in single-parent families based on the perspective of social work. This study took the S community in Anyang City,Henan Province as the survey site, and took the 12-18-year-old single-parent families and their parents in the community as the main research objects.During the investigation stage, the researchers used questionnaires, interviews and observation methods to understand the current status of parent-child relationships in single-parent families in the community, and summarized the manifestations and influencing factors of parent-child conflicts. The survey found that there are constant conflicts between parents and children in single-parent families, mainly in three aspects:frequent verbal violence conflicts, physical conflict, and parent-child emotional confrontation. The reasons for the outbreak of parent-child conflicts in single-parent families are complex, and are affected by various factors such as social environment, family atmosphere, and individual cognitive ability. In this study, the manifestations of parent-child conflict were divided into three categories: single-parent families with communication conflict,single-parent families with violent interaction behavior, and single-parent families with emotional opposition. At the practical stage, this study designed a casework service plan based on family systems theory and cognitive behavioral theory. The researcher started from two aspects: changing the unreasonable cognition of the client and improving the client’s problem-solving ability. At the same time, the researcher designed the targeted service plan combining the important factors of the communication and interaction of family members in the family system theory. In the process of case intervention, through family talks, family sitcoms, debate activities and homework, the researcher helped both parents and children in single-parent families to change their unreasonable cognition, take correct measures to deal with changes in family structure, and use reasonable ways to deal with parent-child conflicts. After the case ended, the parent-child intimacy scale and the task completion scale were used to evaluate the effect of casework intervention. The research was concluded with a reflection on the practice and a discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of social work methods in intervening in parent-child conflict in single-parent families.
