The Case Study Of Cross Cultural Project Communication Management In The Technology Service Bureau Of Tokyo Organizing Committee Of Olympic Games

The Olympic Games is the world’s largest comprehensive sports events hosted by the International Olympic Committee.Although the Games duration is only for two weeks,the entire Olympic Games lifecycle is more than ten years.No organization or a country can organize the Olympic Games independently.Effective cross-cultural communication is one of the important factors that determines the success of the Olympic Games.This article takes the cross-cultural communication management issues of the ICT team under the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee as the research object.The article outlines the particularity and constraints of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and introduces the problems of cross-cultural communication management in the project,and refers to the research results of project communication management theory and cross-cultural related theories,combines with specific issues in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics project management,and analyzes the root causes of project management communication problems from three aspects: organizational environment,communication factors,and cultural interference.Based on the analysis of the case problems,the improvement countermeasures were proposed for the current situation of the communication management of the ICT department of the Technical Bureau,and helped the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee find a reasonable and effective method to improve the efficiency and quality of cross-cultural communication management.It also puts forward suggestions and prospects for improvement of cross-cultural project communication management in the end.Through the study of the cross-cultural management problems in the ICT team of the Tokyo Organizing Committee of Olympic Games,on one hand,it can help the project team avoid project problems caused by poor communication,and at the same time serve as a reference for communication management when the Olympic Games workforce are in greatest demand.On the other hand,it also has certain reference significance for the communication management when other countries host the Olympic Games and the project management in cross-cultural organizations.
