In recent years,the way of evaluating the quality of higher education has changed from focusing on learning outcomes to focusing on students’ learning process,and learning engagement,as an important way to evaluate the learning process,has gradually attracted the attention and research of experts and scholars,and become an indispensable index for evaluating the quality of higher education.As an important reserve of national talents in the field of excellent humanities,the quality and level of their learning is of great significance and guarantee to improve the overall quality of higher education.Therefore,understanding the current situation of learning engagement of master’s students in liberal arts through empirical investigation,exploring important influencing factors,and proposing practical countermeasures and suggestions in terms of internal mechanisms and external conditions are conducive to guaranteeing the quality of liberal arts talents cultivation from the source.This study analyzes the relevant studies on students’ learning engagement by domestic and foreign scholars,bases on student engagement theory,quality of effort theory,and learning engagement theory,draws on and improves the measurement scheme of existing studies,and revises the questionnaire to suit the purpose of this study,with the five dimensions of academic completion level,active and cooperative learning level,teacher-student interaction level,campus environment support level,and learning experience enrichment level.To explore the current status of learning engagement of master’s degree students in liberal arts at University of S.Through the interview method,the theoretical explanation and dimensional classification of the learning engagement of 24 master’s students in liberal arts at University of S were made,and a mixed method of qualitative and quantitative approaches was used in an attempt to decipher the correlation mechanism of learning engagement of master’s students in liberal arts as influenced by different dimensions and factors.Based on the interview results,we can summarize 17 secondary indicators,including "ability to improve","willingness of family members","compliance with transfer","teaching methods According to the findings of the previous studies,the second-round correlations were integrated and " learning interest," " learning motivation," " learning resources," and " policy support " were summarized.","policy support","teacher-student relationship",and "peer group relationship".Finally,in response to the results of the theoretical analysis and empirical research,the enhancement strategies are proposed to improve self-efficacy,sense correct learning attitudes,play the role of micro-environment promotion,optimize institutional reform,pay attention to learning interests and learning preferences,and promote academic community construction.
