| The rapid development of economy and technology in today’s society has led to great changes in life,and at the critical period of building a well-off society,there are higher and newer requirements for the overall quality of the country and the quality of talent training.In order to promote the overall development of students and enhance the educational value of subjects,the educational objectives of each subject are based on the "core literacy" as the starting point.The Biology Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)explicitly introduces the concept of core literacy in biology,which is both different from and related to the core literacy at the high school level.In September 2021,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Off-Campus Training on Students in Compulsory Education(hereinafter referred to as "Double Reduction"),which set new requirements and gave guiding suggestions on the arrangement of homework.The biology homework under the“Double reduction” policy is not only an extension of classroom teaching,but also a way to improve students’ independent learning,inquiry ability,cooperative learning and core literacy in biology.Therefore,through the analysis and understanding of core literacy,this paper tries to design biology after-school homework that meets the requirements of the "double reduction" policy and can promote the development of core literacy of junior high school students and effectively connect the cultivation of core literacy in junior high school and high school,providing some reference and inspiration for the design of biology after-school homework in junior high school.In this paper,we firstly analyzed the relationship between core literacy and biology homework through literature research method,defined the connotation of both concepts and determine the theoretical basis of this study.A questionnaire was used to collect and analyze the data of the first-year biology after-school homework in a Beijing middle school.The current status of biology after-school homework was investigated in terms of design,implementation,and evaluation,while the teachers’ knowledge about core literacy and homework design in the school was investigated through interviews,and the interview results were presented as data using the rooting theory.Based on the basic theories of education and psychology,combined with the human education version of biology textbooks and the analysis of the new curriculum,this study attempts to design two sets of biology after-school homework based on the cultivation of core literacy in biology,with the aim of promoting the cultivation of core literacy in biology and the comprehensive popularization of the "double reduction" policy.The aim is to enrich the resource base of homework.The results of the students’ questionnaires show that: 1)biology homework depends on exercise books;2)students have a high degree of completion but low interest in biology homework;3)there is still room for a reasonable distribution of homework volume and difficulty;4)students’ favorite type of homework is mostly practical homework;5)homework evaluation is done in a single way.Through the real problems reflected in the actual survey results,the author designed a complete set of homework design objectives integrated with the content of each major unit in the new curriculum,so that the core literacy of biology can be reflected in a concrete way,one by one,to provide a template for homework design for front-line teachers.In this study,the homework design should follow the four design principles of "scientific","hierarchical","lifelike",and "comprehensive".According to the objectives and principles of homework design,this paper gives two sets of cases of junior high school biology after-school homework design,and put them into practice.It is found that students’ interest in biology homework has been improved,and their core literacy need to be cultivated for a long time.However,there have been preliminary changes in their disciplinary thinking.Based on the research of this paper,we hope that front-line biology teachers can design the after-school homework reasonably,effectively and scientifically from the perspective of disciplinary core literacy,so as to better implement and sustain the disciplinary core literacy in the homework link. |
