Since the resumption of the college entrance examinations in 1977,China has been making strong changes to the college entrance examinations as an important way of selecting talents.2020 saw the release of the "Strong Foundation Plan" by the Ministry of Education, which identified "selecting talents for the country" as the primary criterion for the college entrance examinations. As one of the main subjects in the college entrance examination, mathematics is receiving more and more attention. In order to ensure that the questions are fair and equitable, the National Curriculum Standards for Mathematics in General High Schools(2017 Edition2020 Revision)has been released, specifying the six core literacies of mathematics. The Syllabus of the National Unified Examination for Admission to Universities emphasizes the need to strengthen the examination of students’ sense of innovation in the HKALE in order to develop their rational thinking skills. In the context of the new college entrance examination, how to assess the comprehensive mathematical core literacy of senior secondary students and how to improve students’ innovation ability have become new topics for exploration and research in the education sector at present.Since its introduction,SOLO classification theory has been widely recognized and used in assessing students’ performance, their understanding of concepts and their answers to open-ended examination questions. The application of SOLO classification theory to the study of mathematics high-stakes examination questions can effectively assess students’ level of thinking skills. In order to analyze the application of SOLO classification theory to mathematics high-stakes examination questions, this thesis selects the high-stakes mathematics examination questions of the New College Entrance Examination National Paper I,the New College Entrance Examination National Paper II and the Tianjin Paper from 2020 to 2022 as the subjects of the study.Through a comparative study of the high-stakes mathematics examination questions both horizontally and vertically, the differences in the level of proficiency that each set of questions focuses on,so as to understand This thesis uses literature research, comparative research, and the use of the literature to compare the level of the questions. This article uses literature research, comparative research and interview methods to further elaborate on the emergence and development of SOLO theory, and to analyze the important role of SOLO theory in the analysis of learning outcomes, the development of test questions, the determination of assessment, and the guidance of teaching design,in the light of domestic and international research on the application of SOLO theory in examinations. The article focuses on the analysis of the SOLO level classification criteria.By comparing the overall SOLO level of mathematics examination papers from different regions in 2020-2022,the article understands the characteristics of the questions in different years and papers, and concludes that the proportion of questions at the multi-point structure level in the examination questions is the largest, which means that the question writers attach more importance to the examination of questions at this level The final chapter is based on SOLO.The final chapter of the article is based on SOLO theory, and the conic curves examination is also used as the object of study.Through interviews with teachers,it is concluded that the practice of SOLO theory in mathematics teaching is of great significance, which can help students better grasp the learning methods and examination points of conic curves, and provide a more efficient reference direction for teaching design. In the context of the new college entrance examination, students’ logical reasoning, mathematical abstraction, mathematical operation and intuitive imagination are the focus of the innovative thinking test. This thesis argues that good teaching practices are important for achieving educational goals, and that emphasis should be placed on developing students’ core mathematical literacy in teaching, which can be done by developing their thinking skills to enhance their knowledge and skills.Through the study of SOLO classification theory, this thesis establishes a set of SOLO level criteria for assessing mathematics questions in the college entrance examination, and uses SOLO classification theory to grasp the key directions and development trends of future mathematics college entrance examination questions,so as to help students better understand and master the knowledge points, develop their innovative thinking and practical skills, help teachers improve their mathematics teaching methods and continuously improve the quality of teaching, and provide the country with It will also help teachers to improve their teaching methods, continuously improve the quality of teaching and learning, and provide the right thinking and reference direction for the country to better select the best talents through the college entrance examinations, thus realizing the important goal of the new curriculum of balancing basic, selective and developmental aspects.
