With the rapid development of the Internet,big data,cloud computing and artificial intelligence,we have entered the era of self-media.In the age of self-media,the interactive and convenient mode of communication on self-media platforms makes it difficult to distinguish the true from the false in the mud of information in online public opinion,and the Internet has become a forum for the interchange and exchange of diverse ideas,cultures and values.As the interactive features of social media platforms continue to strengthen,the probability of social reality events spreading and fermenting on the Internet and eventually becoming online public opinion is greatly increased.In the age of self-media,the public is both the recipient and the publisher and disseminator of information,and their enthusiasm for participating in online public opinion has never been higher.College students are the largest group of Internet users,and their strong curiosity and desire to express themselves make them the most active group in participating in online public opinion.Faced with the mixed and indistinguishable online information,it has become very urgent to improve college students’ ability to judge and select online information,and to make them participate in online public opinion in a rational and objective manner.Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen the research on the guidance of university students’ online public opinion.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part is an overview related to the guidance of university students’ online public opinion in the era of self-media.Starting from the definition of concepts related to the guidance of university students’ online public opinion in the era of self-media,the theoretical foundation of university students’ online public opinion guidance is elaborated from the theories of Marx and Engels on the study of public opinion,the important discourses of the Chinese Communists on the study of public opinion and the relevant theories of communication science,etc.The theoretical foundation of university students’ online public opinion guidance in the era of self-media is discussed in terms of maintaining the ideological security of universities,realizing the harmonious and stable development of campuses and It also discusses the importance of college students’ online opinion guidance in maintaining ideological security of colleges and universities,achieving harmonious and stable development of campuses and improving college students’ online moral quality.The second part analyzes the current situation of university students’ online opinion guidance in the era of self-media.Firstly,it summarizes the effectiveness of the guidance of university students’ online public opinion in China: the awareness of university students’ online public opinion participation is gradually rational,the discourse power of universities is gradually enhanced,and the self-media platforms are fully utilized.At the same time,it is pointed out that there are many problems in the guidance of university students’ online public opinion: the low efficiency of the guidance platform,the weak execution of the guidance subject,the rigid and old methods of guidance,and the resistance of some university students.On this basis,the reasons for the problems are analyzed in terms of the lack of importance attached by universities to the guidance of students’ online public opinion,the construction of guidance teams to be optimized,the guidance mechanism not yet sound,and the complex and changing guidance environment.The third part is the countermeasures for strengthening the guidance of university students’ online public opinion in the era of self-media.On the basis of analyzing the current situation of college students’ online public opinion guidance,countermeasures for strengthening college students’ online public opinion guidance are proposed,and specific countermeasures are put forward in terms of importance,guidance team,guidance mechanism,guidance environment and college students’ online literacy,in order to be able to guide college online ideological and political education to gain effectiveness.
