The quadruple representation is based on the triple representation research,and the curve representation is added,which includes four representations of“ macro-micro-symbol-curve ”.Its emergence is also of great significance to teachers ’teaching and students ’ learning.In recent years,the research on chemical quadruple representation mainly focuses on the interpretation of chemical quadruple representation theory and the practice of teaching mode based on chemical quadruple representation theory,while there are relatively few studies on testing students ’ chemical quadruple representation ability.Therefore,it is necessary to investigate the ability of chemical quadruple representation.This paper will focus on the “ chemical quadruple representation ability ” and use the “ ion reaction in solution ” as the knowledge carrier for empirical research.The specific contents and conclusions are as follows.The first chapter is the preface,mainly from the selected topic reason,research significance,research status at home and abroad,research contents and methods of four parts.The second chapter is the concept definition and theoretical basis.This paper defines the concepts of representation,chemical quadruple representation and chemical quadruple representation ability,and determines the theoretical basis of constructivism learning theory,information processing theory and SOLO classification evaluation theory.The third chapter is the design of the test paper.The author analyzes the content of the “ ion reaction in the solution ” in the textbook,determines the test content and draws up a two-way detailed list of the test paper.A test paper that can measure students ’fourfold representation ability was compiled.The fourth chapter is the analysis of the test results of the four-fold representation ability of chemistry.This part uses the formal questionnaire to test the students of grade 2in a key middle school in Yan ’an City,Shaanxi Province.The data are analyzed and processed by SPSS 27.0 software.The overall situation of each representation ability,the correlation between each representation ability and the total score,the class characteristics of each representation ability and the gender characteristics of each representation ability are analyzed.Through the analysis of the overall situation of each representation ability,it is found that the overall representation ability of students needs to be improved.The ability from microscopic representation to curve representation is the worst,and the ability from macroscopic representation to microscopic representation is relatively good.Through the analysis of the class characteristics of each representation ability,it is found that there are significant differences among the representation abilities of different classes,and the representation abilities of key class students are better than those of ordinary class students.Through the analysis of the gender characteristics of each representation ability,it is found that there is no significant difference between male and female students in each representation ability.The fifth chapter is based on the test results,analyzes the factors that affect the students ’ fourfold representation ability,and puts forward the corresponding teaching suggestions based on this : using the combination of number and shape to extract the effective information of the curve image;improve students ’ awareness and ability to switch between representations;create a learning situation of quadruple representation and guide students to quadruple representation.The sixth chapter is the research conclusions and prospect.This chapter summarizes all the above research contents and puts forward the prospect based on the shortcomings of this research.It is hoped that this study can provide some reference for front-line teachers to understand students ’ chemical quadruple representation ability level and carry out targeted classroom teaching.
