A Study On The Application Of Performance Evaluation In Argumentative Writing Teaching In Junior Middle School

Abstract/Summary:
With the deepening of the new curriculum reform and the concept of assessment for teaching and learning,performance evaluation has received special attention,and the majority of educators hope to drive the reform of the whole curriculum and teaching through it,and many front-line teachers have been exploring and practicing its application in various subjects.The teaching of argumentative essay writing occupies an important position in junior high school,but through the questionnaire survey,it is found that there are problems in the teaching of junior high school argumentative essay writing,such as the utilitarianism of writing learning,the difficulty of guiding revision,the lack of prominent evaluation subjects and the lack of clear evaluation criteria.In response to the existing problems,the feasibility of applying performance evaluation to middle school argumentative essay writing teaching to improve the teaching problems is argued,taking into account the requirements of the curriculum and the elements,characteristics,and theoretical foundations of performance evaluation.Drawing on the experience of previous studies and taking into account the real-life needs,in terms of content design,the specific design process of performance evaluation in the teaching of argumentative essay writing is proposed,including the determination of assessment objectives,the design of expressive tasks,and the development of scoring rules,and the objectives of teaching argumentative essay writing in junior high school are determined,expressive tasks suitable for teaching argumentative essay writing are designed,and scoring rules for junior high school argumentative essays are developed.In terms of integration with classroom teaching,we develop an application template for teaching the reverse design of argumentative essay writing in junior high school with the specific idea of reversing the design to take advantage of performance evaluation,present the specific teaching design with the example of the writing topic of "Reasonable argumentation" in the first book of the 9th grade of the Unified Edition language,and propose specific implementation methods,including guiding students to the six steps include guiding students to clarify the evaluation objectives and tasks,helping them understand the scoring rules,organizing them to complete performance tasks,observing and collecting evaluation information,determining performance levels with the help of scoring rules,and using evaluation results for feedback and decision-making.The main problems in the application process are summarized and reflected upon,and relevant suggestions are put forward: schools provide teaching support and play a guiding role;teachers consciously improve their assessment literacy and attach importance to students’ subjective status;and implement concrete operations to ensure effective implementation.
