With the development of information technology,images have become an important carrier of information dissemination in our society by virtue of their intuitive,perceptible and easily reproducible advantages.The use of images in the teaching of ideology and politics has become increasingly prominent.They have made the originally obscure content more visual,stimulated students’ interest in learning and enriched the content of ideology and politics classes.Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,as a new textbook in the unified version,has a large and theoretical content span,which is far from the actual life of students.This paper explores the use of image resources in the teaching of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in high school.Firstly,the concept of image resources is defined and its types and characteristics are analysed on the basis of literature review.Based on the principle of developing and utilizing curriculum resources,the basic process of using image resources in the teaching of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics is proposed,and the use of image resources in teaching needs to go through five basic steps: collection,selection,transformation,application and evaluation.Secondly,questionnaires,interviews and classroom observations were used to understand the current situation of the use of image resources in teaching Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.The survey found that the use of image resources in the teaching of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics has achieved certain results,but there are still some problems.The main problems are: bias in the selection of images,unreasonable use of images,students’ perception of images without deep thinking,and the use of images in favour of knowledge teaching.The lack of teachers’ ability to collect and filter images,the constraints of the traditional teaching model,teachers’ lack of awareness of image resources,and the neglect of teaching reflection on the effectiveness of image use are the main causes of these problems.Finally,in order to analyse the problems of image resources in the teaching of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and their causes,an attempt is made to propose strategies for the use of image resources in four aspects: strengthening the awareness and ability of teaching subjects,selecting image resources reasonably,using image resources effectively and constructing evaluation methods for the use of image resources.
