Emotional Analysis Of Social Media Texts During The Important Season Of E Sports

With the popularization of mobile Internet and the development of live streaming technology,more people have started to pay attention to e Sports match and make comments on social media.Several scholars have paid attention to the relationship between the emotional changes of the spectators of e Sports matches and the results of them,and have used different approaches to establish text sentiment analysis methods.However,fewer scholars explore the characteristics of Chinese social media blog posts on e Sports themes in view of related social media texts from the perspective of theme,emotion and so on during the complete season.This paper took the texts from Twitter and Sina Weibo during 2021 League of Legends World Championship season as the experimental object,chose the LDA topic model to cluster the text topics,and used the LIWC and SC-LIWC sentiment dictionaries to calculate the scores based on word frequency by sentiment type to classify the text with multiple sentiments,and verified the accuracy of sentiment analysis method and its applicability to e Sports theme texts by manual labeling through random sampling.This paper compared the differences between the themes and emotions of the texts on the two platforms,and drew the following conclusions: firstly,discussants’ attention was directly proportional to the grade of the match,and the matches with Chinese teams or the events related to the damage of public interest were more concerned by the public;secondly,the less influential groups were more likely to express their opinions directly about the event;thirdly,discussants reacted promptly to all kinds of emotions about the match,but the peak of positive emotions such as joy after the match lagged slightly.What’s more,discussants’ blame and complaints about the mistakes of the players were difficult to dissipate in a short period of time after the match.Lastly,there were more expressions in the form of promise and sexist and violent comments and behaviors in the season,and discussants tended to mix e Sports matches with patriotism and other national emotions excessively.Based on the above conclusions,this paper concluded that during the current e Sports seasons,there were problems such as over-mixing of national emotions and e Sports matches,the public blindly following high-heat topics,strange oath-fulfilling behaviors that violate morality and law,women’s rights being damaged,public discontent caused by conflicting schedules,and the difficulty in letting go of accusations and complaints after the match.Lastly,this paper made suggestions from Sina Weibo platform,e Sportsrelated enterprises and opinion leaders in the field.
