Ai Chi is a treasure of traditional Chinese culture with a long history.It has a history of over 300 years since its establishment.It has rich connotations and integrates self-cultivation,physical fitness,and self-defense skills.It is an important component of China’s excellent cultural heritage.It is also one of the popular programs for national fitness today.Handan is a city known as the "hometown of Tai Chi culture" and the birthplace of Yang,Wu,and Wu Tai Chi.Handan City regards Tai Chi as a cultural brand,creating a rich local characteristic culture.Tai Chi is a combination of health preservation,fitness,and competition.Regular practice of Tai Chi can improve various skills of the body and alleviate physical health.As a strategic focus of national fitness,schools have become a trend for Tai Chi to enter schools.Conducting Tai Chi classes in vocational schools is of great significance for students’ physical and mental development.The Handan Municipal Government and Education have issued the "Implementation Plan for Promoting the" Tai Chi+X "Model of School Physical Education to Promote the Healthy Development of Students’ Physical Fitness",which requires universities,vocational schools,and primary and secondary schools to promote "dual hobbies" and "dual characteristics" activities using the "Tai Chi+X" model,promote students’ comprehensive development,and cultivate their interests and hobbies.This paper investigates the current situation of Taijiquan teaching in Handan secondary vocational schools through literature,questionnaire,interview and mathematical statistics.The school with the most class hours is Chunrun Vocational School,with a total of 34 class hours.The schools with the least class hours are Handan Sixth Vocational School,Jize County Comprehensive Vocational Education Center,and Guantao County Vocational and Technical Education Center,all of which have 20 class hours;2.The teaching content mainly focuses on 24 style Tai Chi.Among the 14 vocational colleges surveyed,7 of them use 24 style Tai Chi as a technical teaching content,while some schools do not carry out theoretical learning.In terms of assessment content,emphasis is placed on technical assessment.In some schools,there is no assessment of theoretical knowledge and skills in the assessment elements,and the teaching methods are traditional and single.The teaching methods are mainly teaching methods,demonstration methods,and practice methods,while the learning methods are mostly autonomous learning methods;Teaching evaluation focuses on mid-term assessment scores as the main evaluation indicator,and emphasizes results-based evaluation;3.The teaching staff of professional Tai Chi teachers in vocational schools in Handan City is weak,with 46.67% of teachers being male young teachers and 26.67% being female teachers,resulting in gender imbalance;80% of physical education teachers have a bachelor’s degree,while 80% of physical education teachers are not majoring in martial arts;The main way for teachers to learn Tai Chi is through self study through the media,which not only affects the learning effect,but also has a certain impact on the development of the school in the long run;4.Handan Vocational School students have insufficient understanding of Taijiquan.45.2% of students participate in Taijiquan sports based on teacher pressure and coping with learning.The main way for students to obtain information about Taijiquan is through teacher lectures and communication between classmates,accounting for 72.53%.Therefore,they lack initiative in learning Taijiquan.Based on these situations,optimization strategies are proposed: 1.Optimize curriculum settings to promote the integration of curriculum and teaching;2.Clarify teaching objectives and accurately grasp teaching direction;3.Improve teaching methods and strengthen teacher-student interaction;4.Optimize teaching evaluation and highlight students’ subjectivity;5.Strengthening the teaching staff and enhancing teaching abilities;6.Correct sports attitude and enhance participation initiative.
