Scientific thinking is one of the core qualities of biology.One of the key tasks of biology teaching is to study the methods and teaching strategies for cultivating students’ scientific thinking ability.The 6E teaching mode is a student-centered teaching mode,which focuses on the combination of exploration and practice and is the main method advocated by the cultivation of students’ scientific thinking ability.Research has shown that this model has unique value in cultivating students’ scientific thinking abilities.Therefore,this study takes biology as an example and uses the 6E model to design teaching designs and practices aimed at cultivating students’ scientific thinking abilities.First of all,based on literature analysis and biology,this study designed an outline of teacher interviews,a questionnaire on scientific thinking in senior high school,and selected the first and second chapters of the compulsory 1 "Molecule and Cell" published by Shanghai Science and Technology Press as the content to design a pre-test based on the SOLO scoring standard.This study takes two parallel classes and two key classes of a school in Shanghai as the research object to study the present situation of scientific thinking ability of senior high school students.Then,based on the survey results of the current situation of students’ scientific thinking ability and cultivation status,under the guidance and advice of experts,select the typical representative contents in the third and fourth chapters of the compulsory course 1 "Molecular and Cell" which published by Shanghai Science and Technology Press,and use the 6E teaching mode to carry out teaching design.Finally,the model is put into practice in the classroom,and the effectiveness of cultivating students’ scientific thinking ability is tested by the questionnaire method,paper and pen test method and interview method.The research conclusion shows that the 6E teaching mode is helpful for students to master scientific thinking methods such as deduction and reasoning,model and modeling,and critical thinking;The 6E teaching model has a positive impact on the improvement of students’ scientific thinking ability,but its effectiveness in improving scientific thinking ability needs further verification.The conclusions of this study provide a reference basis for teachers to use the 6E model in biology teaching to improve students’ scientific thinking ability.
