Teacher-student relationship is the basic and core interpersonal relationship in education and teaching activities.A good teacher-student relationship has a great impact on improving the value of education even the value of both teachers’ and students’ life.The lack of parental care makes left-behind children hope to get more care from teachers.The relationship between teachers and left-behind children can not only affect the physical and mental health of students,but also determine the level of education quality.However,in current education,students are lack of teachers’ care and the utilitarian teacher-student relationship problem have become increasingly apparent,which has attracted scholars’ high attention.From the perspective of caring ethics,teachers,as caregivers,take the initiative to practice caring behaviors from study and life based feelings and responsibilities while students accepting,responding and recognizing the caring behaviors.Teachers and students generate positive emotional experience through mutual care,interaction and cooperation,so as to form a close caring relationship with equality,trust and understanding.Based on the interpersonal behavior model of Wubbels,this study revised the "Teacher interaction questionnaire" compiled by Fisher,and investigated the current situation of the relationship between teachers and left-behind children from four indicators as understanding,admonishing,helping and dissatisfied according to specific interpersonal behavior of teachers.The survey results show that teachers and left-behind children has a generally close relationship.When teachers communicate with left-behind children,they show more understanding and friendly,less admonishment and dissatisfaction.Among them,most teachers can trust students,have patience with students,be friendly to students and willing to give students help.But teachers are lack of a general sense of humor,speak less jokes with students,show higher discipline requirements for students,sometimes punishing students.In terms of group differences,there is no significant difference in teacher-student relationship between left-behind children and non-left-behind children.There is no significant gender difference.The grade difference is very significant,the senior grade is significantly higher than the middle grade;Left-behind children who serve as class cadres have a better relationship with teachers;Left-behind children in surrogate care have poor teacher-student relationship.Based on the survey results,this paper proposes effective strategies to improve the relationship between teacher and left-behind children from the perspectives of natural care and ethical care.Firstly,by improving teachers’ natural caring quality and empathy ability,building mutual understanding of teacher-student relationship;Cultivating the dialogue quality of left-behind children,enhancing their self-identity,building mutual understanding as the core of the "I-you" teacher-student relationship;Inheriting the social tradition of loving students,strengthening teachers’ natural care for left-behind children to improve the understanding of teacher-student communication and regulate the degree of admonishment.Secondly,by improving teachers’ ethical care quality,enhancing teachers’ awareness of education,building asymmetric ethical relations;Cultivating left-behind children’s quality of gratitude and sense of responsibility,building a caring teacher-student relationship;Inheriting the social tradition of respecting teachers,enhancing teachers’ ethical care to improve the helping degree of teacher-student communication and regulate dissatisfaction. |
