| School adaptation refers to the condition that students are willing to participate in school activities,meet their own needs and obtain self-development in the school environment,which has an indispensable impact on the personal growth of adolescents.Previous studies have shown that family,school,and individual factors are all important factors affecting adolescents’ school adaptation,but there is no in-depth discussion on the role of parental education investment on adolescents’ school adaptation.Family System Theory provides a theory for understanding the complex relationship between parenting involvement and adolescents’ school adaptation.This study used the School Adaptation Questionnaire for Junior High School Students,the Parenting Investment Questionnaire,the Parent-Child Affinity Questionnaire,and the Severe Discipline Questionnaire to examine the data from four different counties and cities.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1,200 primary and secondary school students in the district to test the mediating role of parent-child relationship between parental education investment and adolescents’ school adaptation,as well as the moderating role of strict discipline on the mediating model,and then put forward corresponding educational countermeasures according to the research results.The results show:(1)There are significant differences in demographic variables such as only child status,left-behind status,grade,and family permanent residence among adolescents’ school adaptation,father’s parenting investment,mother’s parenting investment,and parent-child relationship.(2)There are significant pairwise positive correlations between parental upbringing investment,parent-child relationship and adolescents’ school adaptation.Parent-child relationship mediates the relationship between parenting involvement and adolescents’ school adjustment.Parenting input can not only directly and positively predict adolescents’ school adaptation,but also influence adolescents’ school adaptation through the mediation of parent-child relationship.(3)The mother’s strict discipline regulated the first half and direct paths of the mediating process of the mother’s parenting input affecting adolescents’ school adaptation through the mother-child relationship.Father’s strict discipline did not have a significant moderating effect on the mediating process of father’s parenting investment affecting adolescents’ school adaptation through father-son relationship. |
