| In July 2021,the General Offices of the CPC Central Committee and The State Council issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Off-campus Training for Students receiving Compulsory Education. This policy not only reduces students’ academic burden and improves students’ physical and mental health, but also puts forward higher requirements on teachers’ teaching ability.Meanwhile, the extension of students’ school time and the increase of after-school service time lead to a significant increase in teachers’ work intensity, resulting in greater pressure on their work, professional development and life. Therefore,it is urgent to reduce the work burden of primary school teachers.By using the method of literature research, interview and questionnaire, this study investigates and studies the current situation of the work burden of front-line teachers in three primary schools in Y District of Shijiazhuang City, finds the problems, analyzes the causes, and puts forward suggestions to reduce the work burden of teachers.First,by referring to relevant literature and policies, the concept of “Teacher’s Work Burden” and “Teacher’s Burden Reduction” is defined, chooses “Teacher Professional Development Stage Theory”and “Two-Factor Theory” as the theoretical support of this study, and understands and discusses the new requirements of “Double-Reduction” policy on primary school teachers.Secondly,front-line teachers in three primary schools in Y District of Shijiazhuang City are taken as survey objects and questionnaires are distributed to them to carry out the survey, and selected six teachers for interviews.Through the questionnaire and interview results, the author understood the current situation. The survey results showed that there were the following problems in the work burden of primary school teachers under the “Double Reduction” policy, and analyzed the reasons for each problem: First, under the “Double Reduction” policy, the burden is increased, showing a relatively heavy level. The main reasons are that the supervision mechanism for reducing the burden of teachers needs to be improved, the work content of teachers is too complicated and heavy, and the staff and salary of teachers need to be adjusted. The second is the role overload of teachers under the “Double Reduction” policy, resulting in job burnout, resulting in job burnout, the main reason for the problem is the social cognitive deviation of teachers, insufficient support;Society deifies teachers by expecting too much of them.Third, the school management is complicated and inefficient, and the focus of the work is deviated. The main reasons for the problems are the lack of humanistic care in some school work, the lack of democratic management concept in school management, and the school governance ability to be updated and improved.Fourth, there are obstacles to the professional development of teachers, which affect the effect of“Double Reduction”.The main reasons for the problems are the solidification of teachers’ thinking under the “Double Reduction” policy, the deviation of teachers’ love and dedication, and the lack of strong support for teachers’ professional development. In view of the above problems and reasons, suggestions are put forward from the four levels of state, society, school and teachers. At the national level,we should promote the efficient implementation of “Double Reduction” work, establish legal standards for teachers’ workload, and improve teachers’ wages and welfare benefits. At the social level,we should guide the society to have reasonable expectations for teachers, share the burden of “Double Reduction” of teachers, and strengthen the publicity of “Double Reduction” cases. The school should return to the primary responsibility of education and teaching, try to implement flexible commuting system, and help teachers develop in high quality.Teachers should attach importance to establishing the concept of lifelong learning, strengthening the autonomy of professional development, and scientific and reasonable planning of various work. |
