Young basketball players are the reserve force for the development of China’s high-level sports teams,and also the future and hope for the development of China’s basketball industry.During this period,athletes are at an important stage of physical and mental development.Therefore,paying attention to the construction of youth basketball teams and the personal development of players is the key to ensure the healthy and sustainable development of reserve talent cultivation.As the leader of the team,the leader of the youth basketball team is responsible for many important tasks,such as leading by example,organizing teammates,communicating and coordinating,and implementing the coach’s intention.It plays an important role in the improvement of competition results and the orderly development of ordinary training.Therefore,in the development process of the youth basketball team,the role of the captain should not be underestimated.So what are the general characteristics of the captains of juvenile basketball teams and what are their competency characteristics are important issues that need to be studied in depth.The purpose of this study is to provide useful theoretical reference for coaches to select,evaluate and cultivate excellent team leaders.This paper takes the general characteristics of the competence of the excellent team leaders of the youth basketball team as the starting point,draws on the scientific research paradigm of competence,takes the construction of the competency model of the team leaders of the youth basketball team as the research object,and uses the methods of literature,key event interview,questionnaire survey,case study and mathematical statistics to conduct the research.In the process of research,firstly,the competency indicators of the team leader were extracted through the analysis of literature,the analysis of the team leader’s responsibility characteristics and the interview of key events.After three rounds of expert consultation,an objective and consistent competency evaluation scale was formed,and the "Youth Basketball Team Leader Competency Prediction Questionnaire" was prepared;Secondly,the project analysis and exploratory factor analysis are carried out to predict the questionnaire data,and then the competency model of the leader of the youth basketball team is constructed;Finally,the model is tested by the data of the "Official Questionnaire on the Competency of Youth Basketball Team Leader",and a case study is carried out on this basis to further verify the scientific and practical nature of the model.The research results and conclusions are as follows:Research results:(1)Model construction results: The cumulative variance interpretation rate(CPV)of the second exploratory factor analysis was 70.036%.Four common factor dimensions were extracted by principal component analysis.Among them,the "establishment and development relationship" dimension explained 24.034% variance variance,and the factor load coefficient was between 0.717-0.905.Cronbach α The coefficient is 0.943;The "individual trait" dimension explains 18.756% variance variance,and the factor load coefficient is between0.796-0.876.Cronbach α The coefficient is 0.941;The "business level" dimension explains16.061% variance variance,and the factor load coefficient is between 0.780-0.914.Cronbachα The coefficient is 0.928;The "cognitive and thinking development" dimension explains11.185% variance variance,and the factor load coefficient is between 0.752-0.854.Cronbachα The coefficient is 0.892.(2)Model test results:(1)Structural validity test results: the CR value of the dimension of "establishing and developing relationship" is 0.942,and the AVE value is 0.619;The CR value of "individual trait" dimension is 0.936,and the AVE value is 0.649;The CR value of the "business level" dimension is 0.929,and the AVE value is 0.653;The CR value of "cognitive and thinking development" dimension is 0.887,and the AVE value is 0.568.(2)Differentiation validity test results: the correlation between each dimension is below 0.5,and is lower than the square root of AVE corresponding to each dimension.(3)Model fitness test results: CMIN/DF value is 1.222,GFI value is 0.903,NFI value is 0.927,CFI value is 0.986,RMR value is 0.037,RMSEA value is 0.026.(4)The results of the difference test of demographic variables showed that there was a significant difference in the scores of the team leaders of different sexes in the dimension of "business level"(P<0.05);There was a significant difference in the scores of "cognitive and thinking development" among the team leaders of different ages(P<0.01);There was a very significant difference in the score of the "business level" dimension among the captains of different sports grades(P<0.001);There was a significant difference in the scores of "building and developing relationship" and "individual characteristics" between the team leaders with different tenure(P<0.001).(3)Case study results: Spearman correlation coefficients between raters are higher than0.6.The scores of each dimension of the team leader’s self-assessment questionnaire data are:45 points for the "building and developing relationship" dimension,39 points for the "individual characteristics" dimension,35 points for the "business level" dimension,and 25 points for the "cognitive and thinking development" dimension.The scores of each dimension are consistent with their actual behavior.Research conclusion:(1)The competency model of young basketball team leader is constructed.The model includes four dimensions and 13 competency indicators,among which the dimension of "establishing and developing relationship" is composed of influence,communication ability,motivation ability and interpersonal relationship indicators;The dimension of "individual trait" is composed of team consciousness,achievement motivation and self-control ability;The "business level" dimension is composed of professional knowledge and skills,organizational management ability,temporary command ability and key ball handling ability indicators;The dimension of "cognitive and thinking development" consists of insight and analysis and summary ability indicators.(2)The Competency Evaluation Scale for Youth Basketball Team Leaders was prepared.The scale contains 31 measurement questions,including 10 questions in the dimension of "building and developing relationships";The dimension of "individual characteristics" includes 8 topics;The "business level" dimension contains seven topics;The dimension of "cognition and thinking development" includes six topics.The model was tested with formal questionnaire data,and the results showed that the model was reasonable in structure,high in reliability and validity,and good in fitting.The data of GFI,NFI,CFI and other fitting indicators reached the ideal standard.(3)In the case study,the reliability(correlation)between raters is high,and the evaluation results are relatively objective and accurate.Li Zirui’s competency in all dimensions is at a high level as a whole,consistent with the characteristics of demographic differences.The title of each dimension of the model can truly and accurately reflect its work characteristics,further confirming the scientific and practical nature of the model,and providing a reference measurement tool for evaluating the competency level of young basketball team leaders.
