| Professional ethics for teachers,also known as teacher ethics,is a code of ethics that every teacher must adhere to in their teaching work.As one of the most basic qualities of senior high school physical education teachers,professional ethics is particularly important for the development of senior high school physical education teachers themselves and the formation of students’ ideological and moral character.Senior high school PE teachers are the executors of school sport,the transmitters of sporting skills and the inheritors of sporting spirit,and the development of school sport requires PE teachers to improve their professional ethics.The Party and State have long attached great importance to the construction of teachers’ professional ethics,and the Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on "Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of the Teacher Corps in a New Era" also put forward the basic principle of "highlighting teachers’ ethics",emphasising that efforts should be made to improve teachers’ ideological and political quality,comprehensively strengthen the construction of teachers’ ethics,and give top priority to improving teachers’ ideological and political quality and professional ethics.In September2014,during his visit to Beijing Normal University,General Secretary Xi said,"To be a good teacher,one should have ethical sentiments,and a qualified teacher should first be ethically qualified,and the teacher should be a mirror of the ethical cultivation of students.The construction of the teaching team should put the construction of teachers’ professional and ethics qualities in the first place.At present,with the rapid development of the economy and society,there are some high school physical education teachers who have problems with their professional ethics due to the influence of bad culture and values.This is mainly reflected in burnout,Poor concept of education,lacking of communication between teachers and students and the phenomenon of "punishment instead of discipline",which leads to a decline in the quality of high school PE classes.These factors have affected the image of senior high school physical education teachers and have constrained the development of their professional ethics.Therefore,it is necessary to cultivate the professional ethics of senior high school PE teachers,enhance the sense of responsibility and mission of them,and promote the unity of knowledge and action of PE teachers,so as to lay a solid foundation for the overall quality improvement of the teaching team.This paper mainly uses research methods such as literature,survey method,observation method and case study to determine the content of professional ethical qualities of senior high school PE teachers through the literature method and expert interview method.The questionnaire and interview methods were used to investigate and interview PE teachers and students in five provincial demonstration senior high schools in Handan,to identify the main existing problems in response to the survey results,to discover the causes of the problems according to the main existing problems,and then to propose a path to cultivate the professional moral quality of senior high school PE teachers,and ultimately to provide reference for improving the professional moral quality of senior high school PE teachers.The results of this study include the following aspects:(1)The overall condition of senior high PE teachers’ professional ethical quality is good,but there are also some problems.The main problems are as follows: At the cognitive level of teachers’ professional ethics,the main reason is the lack of relevant training and teacher access system,which needs to be improved;The emotional aspects of teachers’ professional ethics are mainly the lack of teacher-student communication and the weak legal awareness of senior high school PE teachers.At the level of teachers’ professional ethical will,the main reasons are the lack of attention to physical education and the lack of lifelong learning concept of senior high school PE teachers;At the level of teachers’ professional ethical conduct,the main reasons are the lack of professional ethics management evaluation system and the imperfect protection system for senior high school PE teachers,as well as the burnout of them.(2)The construction of cultivation pathways for the professional ethical literacy of senior high school PE teachers is mainly cultivated through these four pathways.For the cognitive level of PE teachers’ professional ethics,it is enhanced through four aspects: improving the training system for senior high school physical education teachers’ professional ethics,establishing an admission system for senior high school physical education teachers,Strengthening the professional ethics education for students studying physical education and cultivating senior high school PE eachers’ reflective ability;for the emotional level of senior high school PE teachers’ professional ethics,it is enhanced through building an equal teacher-student relationship,increasing the typical cases for senior high school PE teacher and raising the legal awareness of them for cultivation.For the level of professional ethical will of senior high school PE teachers,to hone it by optimising the guarantee mechanism for senior high school PE teachers and creating an atmosphere of lifelong learning for them.For the level of professional ethical conduct of senior high school physical education teachers,four aspects are regulated through establishing a scientific and reasonable evaluation mechanism,regulating the grooming of senior high school physical education teachers,establishing sound institutional constraints and eliminating PE teachers’ burnout.Then ultimate aim is to cultivate excellent professional ethical behaviour habits among senior high PE teachers,so that they can act in accordance with professional ethical norms without any supervision,which marks the highest stage of professional ethical cultivation for senior high physical education teachers.Through the above means,high school physical education teachers will be able to know and act in unison to improve the overall quality of the senior high school PE teacher team. |
