| At present,China has embarked on a new journey of building a modern socialist country,President Xi Jinping pointed out: Chinese modernization is the modernization of the common prosperity of all the people in the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The common prosperity is the material life and spiritual life are rich.Because there has been a large gap in economic development between urban and rural areas in China for a long time, the difficulty and focus of achieving common prosperity at this stage are in rural areas. The seventh population census shows that the aging problem of rural population in China is becoming more and more serious, but the level of old-age security and related service facilities in rural areas are seriously backward, which will undoubtedly affect the happiness level of the rural elderly and is not conducive to the realization of common prosperity. As an important component of the rural elderly care service system, the basic pension insurance for urban and rural residents(hereinafter referred to as urban-rural housing insurance)plays an important role in improving the level of elderly care security. With the deepening of urban-rural housing insurance, whether it can achieve "happiness for the elderly" on the basis of "providing for the elderly" has become a focus of attention for the government and academia. Therefore,it is of great significance to study whether urban and rural housing security has an enhancing effect on the subjective well-being of rural elderly people. This paper first sorts out and summarizes the relevant research literature at home and abroad, and takes Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, social comparison theory and life cycle theory as the main theoretical support. Then it defines the concepts of basic insurance and subjective well-being of urban and rural residents, and describes the current situation using the micro data of six China Comprehensive Social Survey(CGSS)between 2010 and 2018.On this basis, the CGSS2018 micro database was used to construct an ordered logistic model for regression analysis, and the propensity score matching was used for robustness test.Heterogeneity analysis was carried out according to different gender and different regions. Finally, the sense of social justice was used as a mediating variable to analyze the impact mechanism. On the basis of empirical analysis, the following conclusions are drawn: firstly, urban and rural housing insurance has an enhancing effect on the subjective well-being of rural elderly people;Secondly, there is heterogeneity in the impact of urban and rural housing security on subjective well-being,with a more significant impact on women and elderly rural residents in the eastern region; The third is that the improvement effect of urban and rural housing security on the subjective well-being of rural elderly people is partially achieved through enhancing social fairness. Finally, based on the research findings, four targeted optimization suggestions are proposed: firstly,to achieve the preservation and appreciation of the fund and improve the level of treatment;Secondly,we need to improve the payment mechanism and promote the sustainable development of policies;Thirdly,we need to increase publicity efforts and enhance the trust of the masses;Fourthly, policies should be moderately tilted to enhance a sense of social fairness. |
