The realization of common prosperity has gradually been put on the agenda with the establishment of a well-off society in an all-round way, which has always been the essential requirement of socialism, while the excessive urban-rural income gap is undoubtedly a practical problem which needs to be solved on the way to achieve common prosperity.Finance is a favorable way to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas, especially the development of digital inclusive finance in recent years, which provides a new perspective.Digital finance itself has the feature of universal benefit, whose main method of acquiring customers is to provide financial services with wide coverage through e-commerce and social networks. This bottom-up approach allows customers who were previously excluded from traditional finance to benefit. In fact, the main audience group of digital inclusive finance is the disadvantaged group without access to traditional financial services.Rural residents, whose income is generally lower than that of urban areas, are undoubtedly one of the targets of digital inclusive finance services. From this perspective, one of the responsibilities of digital financial inclusion is to narrow the urban-rural income gap. So,can it be proved from both theoretical and empirical levels that digital financial inclusion does have an impact on the urban-rural income gap? If so,what is the specific form of action, mechanism or path of influence? This thesis mainly studies these problems.First of all, this thesis reviewed the factors affecting the urban-rural income gap,the development of digital inclusive finance and other related literature, and defined the urban-rural income gap and other related concepts.Based on the income distribution and other related theories, this thesis put forward the research hypothesis respectively from the overall effect and mechanism analysis level, and then built the theoretical research model.Secondly, the panel data of 31 provinces, cities and autonomous regions from 2011 to 2020 are used to empirically test the aforementioned hypothesis from the perspective of overall effect and mechanism analysis, among which, what affects the mechanism is the mediating effect of rural entrepreneurial vitality and the moderating effect of digital divide. Finally, based on the theoretical and empirical analysis results, the research conclusions of this thesis are drawn, and then the relevant policy recommendations are put forward. This thesis draws the following conclusions: Firstly, digital inclusive finance has a significant effect on narrowing the urban-rural income gap,and the form of effect is non-linear.Secondly,rural entrepreneurial vitality has a significant mediating effect in the process of digital inclusive finance narrowing the urban-rural income gap,and the digital divide has a significant moderating effect in the process. Finally, after analyzing the dimensions of digital inclusive finance,it is found that the impact of different dimensions, such as coverage breadth,on the urban-rural income gap is characterized by heterogeneity, and the rural entrepreneurial vitality and digital divide have an impact on the urban-rural income gap by acting on each subdivision dimension. The policy recommendations are as follows: First,it is still necessary to strengthen the development of digital financial inclusion,so that the level of digital financial inclusion reaches a certain threshold.Second, the promotion of digital inclusive finance in rural areas still needs to be strengthened,so as to enhance rural entrepreneurial vitality.Third,we should pay attention to the moderating effect of the digital divide and steadily advance the strategy of building digital inclusive finance.
