With the rise of Internet technology, digital reading has created a new non-paper reading medium, which has become a new trend of reading for all in the new era.In the process of popularizing reading for all,due to the gap between urban and rural economic income, education level and information environment, there are significant differences between urban and rural middle school students in reading resource acquisition, reading skills learning and reading ability improvement, forming a digital reading gap.Middle school is the key period for the formation of middle school students' personality, and it is also the best time to bridge the digital reading gap. Therefore, how to break the digital reading gap between urban and rural middle school students has become the focus of research.Based on this, this research surveys middle schools in urban areas and townships of Wenzhou City, and explores the status quo and influencing factors of the digital reading gap between urban and rural middle school students. In this research, firstly, through literature analysis, study the relevant literature at home and abroad, and summarize the connotation of the digital reading gap from the perspective of digital divide and digital reading.Second, the questionnaire survey method is used to specifically divide the survey content into three parts. The first part is the basic information and digital reading of the subjects, including gender, grade, reading carrier, reading content, and reading purpose; The second part is the current status of the digital reading gap, including digital reading resources, digital reading skills, and digital reading ability; The third part is the influencing factors of the digital reading gap, including three aspects.Among them, personal factors include subjective needs,self-efficacy,family factors include family income, parental education, and informatization level, and school factors include the informatization environment.Third, the statistical analysis method was used to perform descriptive statistics, difference analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis on 820 questionnaires collected by urban and rural middle school students. Finally, draw conclusions based on the data results, and propose countermeasures and suggestions to bridge the digital reading gap between urban and rural middle school students from the perspectives of the government, schools, families, and students. The research results show that the digital reading of urban and rural middle school students tends to be entertaining, and the digital reading gap between urban and rural middle school students is directly proportional to the grade level, personal factors(subjective needs,self-efficacy),family factors(family income, parental education, and family informatization level),School factors(school information environment)are significantly positively related to the digital reading gap.To this end,the author puts forward several countermeasures and suggestions for the current situation of digital reading among middle school students and bridging the digital reading gap: First, increase government funding to improve rural and school informatization environment construction;Second, develop digital reading platforms to ensure digital reading resources for urban and rural middle school students; Finally, guide middle school students to establish correct reading motivation and improve digital reading literacy.
