The Inspiration Of Xunzi’s Thought Of "Ruling By Rite" To The Management Of University Students

In the rich philosophical thoughts of Xunzi,"rite" serves as not only a raiser who is responsible for integrating scholars thoughts into his thoughts,but only a ferryman who connects Xunzi ’s political ideal with the social reality,finding a practicing breakthrough since the kind politics presented by Confucius and Menci.Focusing on people,Xunzi made the rule of rite as its solution to social disorder and Xunzi regarded "rite" as the core of his thought.From the perspective of his theory,started with the relationship between heaven and man,Xunzi cleared the way for rite to become the highest value standard,and reduced the right of governance from heaven to man,removing the obscurantist color of heaven.Evil nature and hypocrisy,the theoretical assumption represented by Xunzi,expounded the possibility and necessity for the rule of rite and successfully set up the practice path to goodness.Xunzi interprets man from the perspective of group,and his proposition of native collectivism clearly extends the view of rite to the whole society.Therefore,Followed by the main clue:distinction of heaven and humans—distinction of nature and artificiality—syncretism of nature and artificiality—human nature reformation—native collectivism and rounded with a theoretical closed loop that forms with "rite" as the core by the key words of heaven,man,sex and group,Xunzi systematically expounded the theoretical background,necessity and basis of existence,scope of action and other core theories of the "rule of rite".His "Ethical Code" and "Etiquette" become the realistic path to realize the society ruled by the rite.This paper interprets the correspondence between xunzi’s thought of ruling by courtesy and current university student management from philosophical dimension,human dimension,social dimension and legal dimension.His theory of distinguish mankind from heaven that emphasis on the subject status of human beings reflects the educational scene of "lack of field of human beings" in the management of college students.The implementation of the concept of "people-oriented" in the process of college student management should not only emphasize the subject status of students,but also pay attention to the growth of the management team.His hypothesis of "human nature is evil" provides us with a new way of thinking about human science and a solid theoretical foundation for the construction of student management system in colleges and universities.Based on the thought of "nature evil and hypocrisy",xunzi contains abundant thoughts of generative sex education,which has planned a perfect way to realize the all-round development of students,especially the cultivation of moral quality.Xunzi deconstructs the essence of human from the Angle of "group division" and puts forward the goal and method of differentiated management.Based on the reality,xunzi designed the two-fold management structure of "giving priority to propriety and ruling by both propriety and law",which provided a successful template for the integration of "rule by virtue" and "rule by law" in the management of university students.
