| With the rise of a new round of industrial revolution, countries around the world are actively transforming their development methods and valuing technological innovation in order to occupy the forefront of science and technology. To this end,China has implemented an innovation driven development strategy and actively carried out the construction of "new engineering",requiring universities to cultivate comprehensive engineering talents who are rooted in their majors and possess innovative and entrepreneurial abilities. In addition, the current employment situation for college graduates is still very severe, and a single professional and technical ability is no longer sufficient to meet the market demand for talent. Therefore,it is of great significance to address the issue of how to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship abilities of engineering college students in the context of the construction of the "Emerging Engineering".Based on Astin’s I-E-O model and Timmons’ theory of entrepreneurial process, this study compiled a questionnaire on innovation and entrepreneurial ability of engineering students and the influencing factors based on the previous index system, and through the questionnaire survey and data analysis,we made suggestions for the development of innovation and entrepreneurial ability of engineering students in the context of "Emerging Engineering".Through the questionnaire survey and data analysis, suggestions were made in a targeted manner. The survey collected a total of679 valid questionnaires, and through correlation analysis, difference analysis and regression analysis,it is concluded that: firstly, the overall level of innovation and entrepreneurial ability of engineering college students is average, and the entrepreneurial consciousness is not strong;secondly, there is a significant positive correlation among the dimensions of innovative entrepreneurial ability of college students;thirdly,"gender","type of institution","entrepreneurship" and "entrepreneurship" are significantly related to each other,Thirdly, there is a significant positive correlation among the dimensions of innovation and entrepreneurship among engineering college students with different "gender","type of institution","place of origin" and "professional ranking".Fourthly, there are significant differences in the "innovation and entrepreneurship ability" among engineering college students with different family backgrounds;Fifthly,"curriculum teaching" has significant influence on "innovation and entrepreneurship ability".Fifth,"curriculum teaching" has a significant influence on "innovation and entrepreneurship",and there are problems such as single way of course assessment, lack of teachers’ experience in entrepreneurship practice, and lack of integration between innovation and entrepreneurship courses and majors;sixth,"campus atmosphere" has a significant influence on "innovation and entrepreneurship".Sixth,"campus atmosphere" has a significant influence on "innovation and entrepreneurship ability",and there are currently problems such as insufficient interdisciplinary atmosphere and insufficient innovation and entrepreneurship activities. To further promote the innovation and entrepreneurship ability of engineering college students, this study analyzes the experiences of famous foreign entrepreneurial schools Stanford University and University of California,Berkeley in terms of innovation and entrepreneurship talents, and proposes the following countermeasures by combining the results of data analysis: first,to establish a multi-level project-based innovation and entrepreneurship curriculum system with practice orientation;second,to build entrepreneurial faculty groups and enrich teaching methods and evaluation methods;third,to improve research conditions and provide innovation and entrepreneurship education resources;fourth,to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere and strengthen the construction of innovation and entrepreneurship activities and platforms. |
