As the new curriculum reform progresses,teaching concepts and teaching methods are constantly updated.STEAM education is an initiative of educational researchers and practitioners in recent years to promote multidisciplinary integration,combining STEAM education concepts with "integrated and practical" activities in primary school mathematics,and designing "integrated and practical" activities in primary school mathematics based on STEAM education perspectives.In the process of promoting the organic integration of the two,how to use the knowledge of STEAM education to serve the "integrated and practical" activities of primary school mathematics has become an important factor affecting the implementation of "integrated and practical" activities of primary school mathematics under the STEAM education concept.In this study,we used questionnaires,interviews and fieldwork to understand the current situation of mathematics "integrated and practical" activities in primary schools in Z.We found that although mathematics "integrated and practical" activities have achieved certain results,there are still the following problems: a lack of knowledge about mathematics "integrated and practical"activities,a lack of knowledge about mathematics "integrated and practical" activities,and a lack of knowledge about mathematics "integrated and practical" activities."The teachers’ focus on the objectives of the activities was not comprehensive,and the methods and subjects of post-evaluation were too monotonous.The main reasons for these problems are: schools do not attach enough importance to mathematics "integrated and practical" activities;STEAM education has not effectively penetrated into primary school mathematics teaching activities;mathematics teachers are backward in their teaching philosophy;and diversified and comprehensive assessment has not been carried out.To address the current problems in primary school mathematics "integrated and practical" activities,in order to better integrate the two,the STEAM education concept of primary school mathematics "integrated and practical" activities,following the principles of cooperation,practice,integration and In order to better realise the two,the "Integrated and Practical" activities in primary school mathematics under the STEAM education concept are designed in accordance with the principles of collaboration,practice,integration and generativity,combining thematic and project-based learning,and preparing for the development of "Integrated and Practical" activities in primary school mathematics based on the STEAM education concept.In the action research on the "Integrated and Practical" activities in primary school mathematics based on the STEAM education concept,a class of Year 2 of Primary School Z in Ganzhou City was selected to conduct two rounds of permeable mathematics activities.After the first round of action research,classroom observations,student interviews and teacher interviews were conducted to understand the implementation of the "integrated and practical" activities and to reflect on the shortcomings of the activities in order to improve the second round of the research programme.Through the analysis of the effectiveness of the two rounds of action research,it was found that the students’ overall ability and emotional experience of the class had been improved to a certain extent,indicating that the action research measures taken had achieved certain results.Finally,the study concludes with recommendations for the design,implementation and evaluation of "integrated and practical" activities in primary school mathematics based on the STEAM education concept.
