A Study On The Involvement Of Social Work In The Improvement Of Livelihood Ability Of The Disabled

Livelihood is not only a state of life,but also a way of development,and it is the survival ability of disabled people to achieve a better life.Whether people with disabilities can achieve stable income and self-sufficiency in living resources depends not only on their own endogenous force but also on the supporting effect of the external environment.Because of their own lack of endogenous strength,weak ability of selfdevelopment and difficult external environment,people with disabilities lead to problems such as insufficient livelihood assets,unstable income,single source of income,low proportion of high income and so on.In order to investigate and explore the living state of the disabled when they are facing livelihood difficulties and the deep-seated reasons for the lack of livelihood ability of the disabled,this study comprehensively uses the methods of Literature study,field survey and other research methods.from the perspective of social work empowerment,this paper attempts to use casework methods to help the victims improve their livelihood ability.By conducting a household survey in the F community of W City,the author found and identified N and X as the subjects of this study and carried out social worker intervention.Among them,for the case owner N,social workers mainly carry out intervention activities from the economic level,psychological level and social communication level.It specifically includes: at the economic level,to help the case owner improve his own ability and income level;at the psychological level,to help the case owner to enhance his self-confidence and reduce his sense of self-responsibility;at the interpersonal level,to encourage the case owner to participate in community activities,to enhance the social support of his family and neighbors,and to expand his social network.For the case owner X,social workers mainly carry out social work intervention from the physical,psychological and economic aspects.Specifically include: physical level,help the case owner link relevant resources,replace hearing aids;psychological level,help the case owner to improve self-confidence;economic level,help the case owner to improve knowledge and technical ability.The study found that the intervention of social workers has qualitatively improved the life of the victims,enhanced their self-confidence,broadened their social networks,and increased their family income and their ability to cope with risks.and then comprehensively improve the livelihood of the disabled.To a certain extent,this study reveals the reasons for the lack of livelihood capacity of the disabled,and shows the unique advantages and important role of social work in the promotion of livelihood capacity of the disabled.
