According to the "General High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition Revised 2020)",six publishers have published seven versions of high school mathematics textbooks in China,which makes the form of "one standard,many books" of high school mathematics textbooks in China increasingly perfect.In the context of core mathematical literacy,it is especially important to compare and study different versions of textbooks.The study of exponential and logarithmic functions,which are basic elementary functions,can help students deepen their understanding of functions and further appreciate the general ideas and methods of studying functions,as well as help them understand the application value of mathematics.This paper takes "exponential and logarithmic functions" in the seven editions of high school mathematics textbooks in China as the object of study,and adopts the methods of literature research,comparative analysis and statistical analysis.A comparative study was conducted to find out the characteristics of each edition of textbooks and to make feasible suggestions for textbook development and teachers’ use of textbooks.The study found that the seven editions of textbooks have their own characteristics,but there are many similarities:(1)the spiral of knowledge arrangement and diversified column settings;(2)the introduction and presentation of concepts are basically the same;(3)the background of sample problems is single and the level of operation is high;(4)the integration of mathematical culture is less and the integration with information technology is emphasized;(5)the core literacy of mathematics is emphasized.Based on the results of the above comparative study,the following suggestions are made for the preparation of textbooks:(1)to link exponential functions with logarithmic functions consistently;(2)to emphasize the diversification of column forms and more targeted column functions;(3)to arrange example exercises in a hierarchical manner,focusing on the fit between example exercises and teaching priorities;(4)to integrate mathematical culture and make use of information technology.The comments on the use of textbooks by front-line mathematics teachers include: each version of textbooks has its own advantages and disadvantages,in teaching,we should be good at teaching with textbooks,comparing the writing characteristics and layout features of each version of textbooks,combining teaching needs and student development needs,making appropriate screening of textbook content,and using textbooks in a flexible manner.
