A Study On The Media Presentation Of Female "Ideal Body Shape" In XiaoHongshu

As the largest female social e-commerce community in China,the spread of female images and related symbols is subtly affecting female users’ cognition of their bodies.It constantly reminds women of "what we look like","what we should be like" and "what we will become through efforts".On the one hand,female groups take the initiative to become the active presentation of body image;on the other hand,the "ideal body shape" fashion formed in the small red book space makes them have uncontrollable self-emotional perception and actively carry out body shape "transformation".In the post-modern context of highly developed Internet,new female communities emerge,female consciousness develops continuously,and the relationship between art and daily life gradually dissolves......So,we can’t help thinking: What are the contents of the ideal female body on Xiao Hongshu platform? What are the characteristics?Through the images of women’s bodies on the platform of Little Red Book,how do women imagine and define their own bodies? What kind of social and cultural context,power discipline and other’s gaze exist behind the ideal female body picture,and how should women view the self-mediated existence and subjectivity? Therefore,this paper takes the "ideal body" community in Xiaohongshu as the research sample,explores the media presentation of female ideal body in Xiao Hongshu community through the research methods of participatory observation,text analysis and interview,specifically analyzes the characteristics of female ideal body presented in the community discourse and text,and explores the ideological significance.Through the analysis of the images of women’s ideal body shape on Xiao Hongshu platform,it is found that the "ideal body shape" formed on Xiao Hongshu platform contains the fashion of fitness exercise to become "ideal body shape",thinness is the mainstream of "ideal body shape",and the ideal of the whole body and parts is an important element of "ideal body shape".The image communication of "ideal body" describes the complex psychological trends of female groups,including the love and discipline of female body,the identification and resistance of female body,the integration and separation of female body,etc.Moreover,in the pursuit of female "ideal figure",material consumption will deviate to a certain extent,forming an alternative "figure consumption".In the positive transformation of the body shape,in fact,there will be "out of control" in the fantasy;The "body violence" is formed in the thin shift of the middle figure image.
