The development of modern society is closely linked to the progress of science and technology, and at the same time, the education sector is constantly exploring new models to cultivate talents that are adapted to the development of society.Among them, the introduction of creator education has positively contributed to the cultivation of innovative talents in China, and interdisciplinary competence,as an important influencing factor of creator education,is an indispensable part of cultivating innovative talents.Nowadays,China has gradually incorporated the development of interdisciplinary skills into the national curriculum standards and encouraged students to integrate multidisciplinary knowledge to solve practical problems.Although a series of results have been achieved in the research of creator education, the theoretical and practical aspects of interdisciplinary competency development research are still in the initial stage,so it is necessary to conduct research on interdisciplinary competency development around creator education. In this study, creative education in J elementary school was selected as the main object of study.Firstly,we investigate the current situation and problems of interdisciplinary competence development in creative education in J elementary school and analyze the reasons.Secondly,we propose an instructional design strategy for elementary school maker education based on interdisciplinary competency development, and carry out case design and teaching practice under the guidance of the strategy. Finally, data collection and comparative analysis of the teaching implementation are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the strategy. There are seven parts in the whole paper. The first part is the introduction, which mainly includes the background, significance, current situation at home and abroad, content, ideas and methods of this study. The second part defines the concepts of interdisciplinary competence, creative education, and instructional design strategies, and determines the theoretical basis of instructional design with learning by doing, constructivism, learning transfer, and multiple intelligence theory. The third part investigates the interdisciplinary competence of J elementary school through interviews and questionnaires, and analyzes the problems and causes from the findings. The fourth part proposes instructional design strategies based on the analysis of problems and causes. The fifth part is the design of the teaching cases.Under the guidance of the teaching strategy design, three cases of "colorful electronic piano, music player, and tracing smart car" were designed. The sixth part is the analysis of the implementation and effects of the case. The classroom observation form is used to record the process of students’ lessons, the evaluation feedback is implemented by using the student learning activity evaluation form, and the questionnaire and interview method are used to find out the shortcomings of teaching implementation and to suggest corrections. The seventh section concludes the study and provides in-depth reflections on the existing problems.Data analysis shows that the strategy of elementary school creative education based on interdisciplinary competency development proposed in this study can promote the development of students’ interdisciplinary competencies, while problem-solving skills are also effectively enhanced during the teaching and learning process. This study takes interdisciplinary competence development as the core, focuses on the various elements included in interdisciplinary competence in the teaching process, and expects to provide theoretical and practical references for the development of creative education in elementary school.
