| In order to reduce the academic pressure of students in compulsory education,enhance their physical fitness and cultivate their healthy will and character,the Ministry of Education issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Offcampus Training for Students in Compulsory Education in 2021,which pointed out that appropriate physical exercise should be carried out in spare time in a scientific way.In August of the same year,the government issued a regulation requiring students to have one hour of physical activity in and out of school every day.In this context,schools,families and society begin to focus on students’ participation in sports activities outside the school while paying attention to sports learning in the school.This study adopts the method of literature,questionnaire,mathematical statistics and interview to study the characteristics of junior high school students’ participation in extracurricular sports activities in Xinyang City,analyzes its influencing factors and puts forward the optimization path,so as to promote the participation of junior high school students in extracurricular sports activities and enhance their physical health.The conclusions are as follows:1.The overall subjective cognition of junior middle school students participating in sports activities in Xinyang City is at a medium level,and boys are higher than girls(P <0.01).In Xinyang City,junior high school students’ participation in off-campus sports activities is mainly characterized by participating in high school entrance examination,enhancing physical fitness and promoting physical and mental health.The characteristics of participating sites are mainly community squares;The features of the participating projects mainly focus on the sports of the high school entrance examination;The form of participation organization is characterized by peer effect.The participation time was mainly 0.5-1 hours each time.The frequency of participation was mainly 2-3 times per week,and the proportion of students who participated in off-campus sports activities twice or less was higher than that of students in winter and summer vacations(P < 0.01).The proportion of students who participated in sports activities for more than 3 times in winter and summer vacation was higher than that in school period(P < 0.01).The characteristics of participating time period were not fixed,and holidays were concentrated in the morning and evening.The participation intensity was moderate and above.2.Influencing factors of junior high school students’ participation in out-of-school sports activities in Xinyang City include:(1)Family factors: parents’ attitude towards junior high school students’ participation in out-of-school sports activities,the time and frequency of parents’ participation in out-of-school sports activities;(2)School factors:students spend too much time on written homework after going home,the content and form of school sports activities are relatively simple,and the opening of school sports venues does not meet the requirements of relevant policies and regulations;(3)Social factors: lack of sports instructors and volunteers in the community,insufficient construction of sports facilities,and failure of home-school communities to jointly carry out sports activities.(4)Personal factors: external factors include high learning pressure,no time,no sports partner,lack of professional guidance,insufficient venue equipment and no support from parents.Internal factors include poor sports skills,fear of affecting academic performance,poor physical quality,lack of understanding of physical exercise,fear of sports injury and lack of interest.3.In view of these influencing factors,the optimization path of junior high school students’ participation in off-campus sports activities in Xinyang City is proposed:(1)Fully grasp the key points of the policy and effectively guarantee the implementation of the policy;(2)Reform students’ sports cognition,improve students’ sports interest;(3)Change parents’ traditional ideas and cultivate family sports atmosphere;(4)Strengthen the school sports guidance,enrich the forms of sports activities;(5)Accelerate the investment in basic elements and improve the security of off-campus sports;(6)Promoting regional university linkage and sports resource sharing;(7)Take advantage of peer effect and improve professional staffing. |
