| The cultivation effect of students’ critical thinking has a profound impact on the continuous promotion of innovative talent cultivation strategies.For a long time,influenced by traditional educational methods dominated by knowledge transfer and educational evaluation systems,the development of students’ critical thinking in China is not optimistic.Schools,teachers,parents,and society need to improve their active willingness and enthusiasm to cultivate students’ critical thinking,which to some extent inhibits the development of students’ scientific and rational thinking.As cultivating students’ critical thinking has increasingly become the focus of attention and practical focus in the field of education,analyzing the current situation and problems in the development of students’ critical thinking has important value in both theoretical and practical aspects.Previous research has shown that high school students are facing enormous academic pressure,and there are many practical problems in cultivating their critical thinking.However,English has its unique characteristics in the humanities,which contains an abstract thinking mode that analyzes things and emphasizes logic,making logical based critical thinking an important goal of English education.Based on this,this study attempts to systematically sort out and construct the concepts,connotations,and dimensions of critical thinking,taking senior one students and senior one English classes as research objects and analyzing situations,reveal the development status,main problems,and practical dilemmas of students’ critical thinking,and then propose targeted strategies for the development of students’ critical thinking,In order to provide theoretical guidance and action reference for cultivating students’ critical thinking.This study mainly adopts research methods such as literature review,questionnaire survey,and interview methods.Based on constructivist learning concepts,Paul Ed’s critical thinking framework,and other theoretical foundations,it conducts a questionnaire survey for several senior one students in T City,and conducts in-depth interviews with teachers and students in a senior one English classroom.At the level of the development of students’ critical thinking tendencies,the study found that: senior one students generally lack the spirit of seeking truth,and their thoughts are not open enough;Lack of systematic cognition and overly subjective judgment;Inadequate mature thinking and lack of traceability.At the level of the current development of students’ critical thinking abilities,the study found that: senior one students have excellent explanatory skills,but lack analytical skills;Excellent self-evaluation ability and weak reasoning ability;Insufficient calibration capabilities make it difficult to self verify.At the dilemma level of students’ critical thinking development,research has found that the development of students’ critical thinking is constrained by educational evaluation systems,school management methods,teacher teaching activities,and students’ self-reinforcement.In the face of the above problems,this study proposes multidimensional strategies for developing students’ critical thinking.At the level of critical thinking orientation,the main development strategies include opening up ideological horizons,creating a good school atmosphere,improving the ideological system,developing curriculum systems,cultivating rational spirit,and so on.At the level of critical thinking ability,the main development strategies include exercising expression ability,enriching students’ knowledge content,improving self regulation ability,strengthening reasoning practice,improving evaluation system,cultivating evidence awareness,and so on. |
