Chinese society is facing the severe challenge of population aging.In the context of the digital society where information technology is still developing rapidly,the elderly group is facing serious challenges in the process of integrating into the digital society with high-speed iteration of information technology.Therefore,,it is important to pay attention to the elderly excluded from the digital society.We should analyze the influencing factors of digital divide of the elderly,and attach importance to help them to have the opportunity to enjoy the development dividend of the digital society.To explore the current situation and influencing factors of the digital divide among the elderly in China,also try to explore possible strategies to bridge the digital divide among the elderly.This paper use lifelong education theory,social exclusion theory and digital capital theory as the basic theoretical basis,this paper uses qualitative analysis method,semi-structured interview method and statistical analysis method.Through applying the survey data of China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS),this paper analyzes the influencing factors of the digital divide of the elderly.This paper mainly includes theses following steps: Firstly,App,use SPSS statistical software to conduct descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis on the CHARLS survey data in 2018 to find out whether each variable has a significant impact on the elderly’s access to the Internet;Secondly,through conducting semi-structured interview,the paper analyzes the factors influencing the digital divide of the elderly in the context of individual visualization;Thirdly,on the basis of fully drawing on the experience of existing research in the process of narrowing the digital divide,combined with empirical conclusions and interview content,this paper proposes possible countermeasures to narrow the digital divide problem of the elderly.This study draws the following conclusions: Empirical research finds that age,place of residence,family economic level,ethnic group,education level,social activities,language,family member contact and health status have a significant impact on the elderly’s access to the Internet,while gender,marital status and occupational type have no statistical significance on the elderly’s access to the Internet.Combining empirical research results with relevant theories,the following possible countermeasures to narrow the digital gap of the elderly are proposed in this paper: firstly,we should construct the digital technology lifelong education system for the elderly;secondly,the government should play the leading role in the process of narrowing digital divide of the elderly;thirdly,we should attach importance to the role of digital feedback and intergenerational learning;fourthly,the "elderly friendness" design should pay attention to the age stratified design and regional stratified design;...
