| STEM activity are interdisciplinary and collaborative in nature,and they contribute positively to the overall development of children.Group work is an important form of STEM activities,and children’s cooperative behaviors are more frequent in STEM activity than in other activity.At the same time,STEM activity are interdisciplinary in nature,and the tasks are more difficult,requiring higher levels of cooperative behaviors and more efficient cooperation from children.In this study,we found that there is a lack of research on children’s cooperative behavior in STEM activity and a lack of evaluation tools for children’s cooperative behavior in STEM activity at home and abroad.Therefore,this study aims to construct an index system for evaluating children’s cooperative behavior in STEM activity.Based on the principles of index system construction and STEM activity design,and combining the characteristics of STEM activity in China,relevant index systems,practical experience and relevant scientific theories,this study used the Johnson brothers’ five elements of cooperative behavior as the firstlevel indicators,and initially constructed a three-level evaluation index system for children’s cooperative behavior in STEM activitiy.After proposing the pre-assessment system of children’s cooperative behavior in STEM activity,this study used the Delphi method to identify a diverse and authoritative group of experts to evaluate and score the index system,and adopted the boundary value criteria method to screen the indicators.After two rounds of expert consultation,the indexes were revised according to the correlation coefficients of the indexes and expert opinions,and the index system was finally determined to include 5primary indexes,12 secondary indexes and 25 tertiary indexes for the evaluation of children’s cooperative behavior in STEM activity.Then,the hierarchical analysis method was adopted to determine the weights of each indicator in the index system with the help of Yaahp10.3 software,and the rationality of the weight distribution of indicators at each level was analyzed and discussed.Based on the evaluation index system constructed in this study,the following suggestions are proposed for conducting kindergarten STEM activity: establishing positive interdependent relationships;clarifying individual responsibilities;emphasizing the development of interpersonal and group skills;creating an atmosphere of positive and interactive peer cooperation;and focusing on group reflection.Through this study,a system of indicators for evaluating children’s cooperative behavior in STEM activity was finally constructed,and the weighting analysis revealed that the importance of indicators at each level differed.In the future,along with the in-depth research on the cooperative behavior of young children in STEM activity,the index system can be adjusted appropriately by combining the characteristics of cooperative behavior in STEM activity and the research results of STEM activity in different regions of China,so that the whole index system can be more directional and applicable.At the same time,the indicator system constructed in this study can be used to conduct practical research. |
